Zhang Liyin is the first (and currently the only) Chinese solo singer to break into the Korean music industry (Han Kyung of popular K-pop group Super Junior is also from China!)
She is fluent in both Mandarin (her first language) and Korean and she works under SM Entertainment!
Zhang received the Mutizen Award on television programme SBS Ingigayo just 16 days after her debut, which both grew suspicion for industry watchers and audiences.
Zhang also holds an E-6 (Entertainment industry) passport, being foreigners in South Korea, which allows her to work under SBS and MBC, which is why she only performs on the two stages.

I think all is good with her! But she needs to find a way to be more original! Her first single “Timeless” remake of Tina Arena’s original English version also Kelly Clarkson sang duet with Xiah from DBSK! (do they have permission to do that?!) Which appearing with a good looking guy like him for the first time kinda guaranties people’s attention, I don’t know about others but I was dead on staring at that guy Xiah the whole time! It really felt timeless to me?!
But it seems like I was not the only one!
