This year’s most anticipated romantic comedy Lian Ai Bing Fa will commence filming soon but yesterday, the reporters received an exclusive news from Heaven Chamber Corporation, China’s investment representative, claiming that the drama production team of Lian Ai Bing Fa has decided to leave Sun Li, the original female lead, out of the main cast listing. A certain well-informed personage revealed that the main trigger for Sun Li’s role substitution is because of her movie acting commitments, leading to a late postponement of the filming schedule, as such, her previous agreement to act in the drama became an empty promise. Though the production team had wanted to wait for some positive developments, it couldn’t do anything when its Korean counterpart totally rejected the suggestion.

The repeated delay made the production team bitterly disappointed
It was revealed that as early as the end of year 2006, Sun Li’s management company verbally promised to let her take part in filming as the female lead role, Sun Yu Xuan. Various preparatory work for the shooting of Lian Ai Bing Fa started in March this year and when the production team personnel contacted Sun Li’s management company, the staff said no problem. During a media interview, Sun Li’s agent also revealed that she herself was very much looking forward to work with Kim Jeong Hoon. On the other hand, Kim Jeong Hoon as the male lead has already signed an acting contract with the production team as early as March. This certain well-informed personage disclosed, ” Actually Sun Li really likes this character but her management company keeps packing her schedule with more activities and accepting various drama works whenever there’s time, and ended up delaying the filming without a choice.” This personage even claimed that at first, the production team planned to begin filming in May but Sun Li accepted other drama works out of the blue. Because the production team personnel are long time friends with her agent Chang Ji Hong, both parties agreed to put off the filming till June after consultation. However, Sun Li’s management company was slow in giving a positive response, leading to further postponement with no deadline in sight. Though the production team time and again waited patiently, her company failed to give a specific time slot. This has left them with no choice and they are compelled to change Sun Li since the shooting of Lian Ai Bing Fa cannot be dragged on anymore.

Viewers’ opinions are also an important factor
Since the announcement of Lian Ai Bing Fa’s filming, the drama has attracted much attention from various TV stations, among of which Sun Li’s role as the female lead Sun Yu Xuan became the most hotly debated topic between the media and viewers. Most of the audience felt that even though Sun Li’s pure and innocent appearance rather matches the original character of the role, it still falls short in terms of the script’s requirement that the female lead needs to change from a simple girl to a mature woman. The reporters have discovered that on the post bar of Lian Ai Bing Fa, quite a number of netizens think that Kim Jeong Hoon and Sun Li are too similar in their nature, making it difficult for the audience to accept the emotional disputes that will occur between the two, hence they may not be the best partners on screen.
It was revealed that an “internal war” has always existed between Lian Ai Bing Fa’s two investment representatives from China and Korea and the drama production team’s central personnel with regards to the casting of Sun Li as the female lead. Sun Li ’s innocent demeanour is her scoring point and in the survey “Who is best suited to partner with Kim Jeong Hoon?” organised by Lian Ai Bing Fa post bar, the results indicated that though she received quite a number of support votes, her on-screen image as a pop idol on various drama works is not exceptionally outstanding. It seems that for the reasons behind the production team’s changing of the female lead, the viewer’s opinions also play a very significant role in helping the personnel to reach a firm decision.
