Shai yeah glad to have you here with us … if u notice we have diff departments in the blog LOL ~! that’s why I love what we do … me and se7enfan are into the Music department … Kwfong and Louise in charge of our Movie and Dramas … but we cross our boundaries whenever we feel like we have something to say … and it’s so much fun to learn from each other … makes me feel like I’m growing! I have no idea on the movie awards.. cuz I only watch the movies singers are in it LOL~! but looking forward to get educated by Kwfong and Louise posts and comments!

Oh I watched that “I’m cyborg …” I think Rain’s Co-actress had done a lot harder portion of the movie .. so sad that she never got noticed for this movie as Rain did !!! Rain character didn’t seem too complicated to me.

Anyway, oh yeah Taegukgi..must watch that. I heard Resurrection (drama) was a good one too. *adds it to the list*

Yay I love thrillers. I’ll try to watch Bystander and JSA too.

(PS I’m a Rain fan, but I don’t really think he deserves Best New Actor.. I mean yeah, he’s good, but there are others better than him. I can only criticize Rain here..hehe.)

i just took a peek to the link you gave, kwfong. thanx for that!the list of best film nominations seems odd to me. 200 pounds beauty is like taking some movie’s place there. and the host, despite its high popularity in korea, with the water lizard and yellow smoke at the end, i found it slightly better than Gozilla.
when i first watched For Horowitz, i thought it’d be in the nomination of best film.hm..the kid was good too..
anyway, this is my winning list:
Best Film – Radio Star
Best Director – Kim Tae Yong (family ties)
Actor – Ahn Sung Ki (Radio Star)
Actress – Uhm Jung Hwa (For Horowitz) ++ I really like the Uhm Siblings!LOL++
Best Music – Radio Star

Shai, my all time favourites so far are
Joint Security Area;
Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter…Spring;
Musa, the warrior (this Korean/chinese production got me glued to the screen for 2 n half hrs watching Jeong Woo Seong speaking less than 20 lines of dialog! N despite having Zhang Ziyi n it I still liked this movie. It has the young Joo Ji Moo as well)
The Present (old movie, rustic yet hving funny meaningful. moments)
Diary of June/Bystander (very much American like thriller.)

Inez, gomaweoyo for yr list. Let´s c this Friday how many of yr predictions wld hit the jackpot. I hv so many movies to watch but not enough time to watch them!!! I trust yr predictions, hehe.

Shai, I normally follow the box office hits listed by Twitchfilm and follow the directors. So I might miss some sleeper hits. If u come across anything interesting, plse share with us so tt we cld get to know them as well. Great, we r beginning 2 c more of u here in this blog. Hwangyong hamnida!

By the way, do you guys know what sites have Korean movie recommendations? No, I’m not a fan of romcom (Windstruck was too corny, My Sassy Girl ~ passable.. Hehe.) Doesn’t matter if it’s action (I don’t want too much humor mixed with it, though, ie My Wife is a Gangster ~ cheesy), comedy (Hmm..not too fond of 200lb Beauty ~ a lil predictable), and horror (just not with those long-haired lady ghosts.)

So yeah I’m picky and I don’t know which good Asian movies to watch now..

Why was Song Kang Ho the best actor? He played an easy playable retard character in ‘The Host.’ I mean, he’s not serious and he seems rather easy to portray. (Sorry, I tend to compare any Korean movie to Oldboy, which has SUPERB acting.)
