Ji-Hoon’s Word Tour!

Hmmmmmmm…….Pardon my lack of knowledge…..WHO is Ji-Hoon? and how do you pronounce that?

i’ve been “stalking” Rain on this website and was contented with lurking until this came out….
WTF?!?!?! they really went for it?!?!?! the name RAIN is more catchy than the new ji-hoon name… no offense to the elders that named him…
i so like Rain better…
why oh why did you have to change it?!?!? WHY???!!!

Can you buy out a registered name?

LOL it’s so funny they still have the “Bi” one up there .. i never use that here .. cuz it’s very misleading in English! This whole thing is ridiculous though .. after 4 years of activity and 4 albums the guy has to change his name? they say there is lawsuit against it in US doesn’t make any sense to me … some say has to do with JYPE! Since he is no longer signed out with them .. they are showing their love to him …. but on the other hand I would totally appreciate if they apply the same rules and restrictions to that boy SE7EN … me not liking that name … excuse me it’s not even a name ! it’s a NUMBER! he was named after 7 kimchis left on his plate in a random day eating with his producer … How is he gonna be answering interviews on that I have no idea .. at least Rain came up with “my dance looked like i was crying, i liked Rain .. where ever i go it rains” blah blah … how can u justify 7 for a name …. don’t let me start on him posing pictures with 7-11 stores logo …

the name RAIN suit him very much. his dances like rain. sometimes the moves are so strong and powerful. like thundery rain. sometimes just like drizzly kind of rain.

btw, i’ve been lurking too heheh and i thought shenyue adores SE7EN very much?

You pronounce it like G in gym and hoon as in Who but with a N at the end so its G-Whoon.

This is just my own made up version of romanization.

Well, from my point of view, i don’t think JiHoon sounds that bad. it is just because we are so used with the name Rain.

At first, i thought he changed it because of JYPE contract. But in the other hand, he wanted to have his name Jihoon for his acting career to make it more professional.

People might not like it cause it sounds weird or too asian (well he’s asian!) or too complicated to pronounce. Well, maybe Rain wants to show around the world that not only he is asian but also proud to be korean,and… representing Asia?( people might disagree with it, but its only a question ok?:) )

I don’t think theres nothing wrong to show your root. Im pretty sure Rain had a hard time to choose his name too.

Somehow, i have this feeling American people will make fun of his name. But, oh well… For non-asian people, when an asian person has an english name , they are like: oh ok theres something wrong with that (maybe the name doesnt match with the skin colour??) and when the person has an asian name, they are like: oh wth is that, jesus so hard to pronounce.

I can tell this cause im a victim of “foreign name”. Im asian and i have a french name( no its not a fake one) and lots of ppl in school and at work keep asking me: oh why your name is french? oh how come it is in french? hmmm i dont know, why the sky is blue? do u expect me to have a russian name? and when i tell them my asian name, they are like: OH…OK…WHY… well i dont know!!!!!! people jugde you differently with your name.

So, my point is let Rain uses his real name and if he has to go through obstacles, well he has to..does it gonna affect his career? i really don’t know.

So guys let support him! For bibirainrain’s sake! hahaha wait you think im kidding?! no im not! haha

Everyone feel my pain .. does that mean I have to make a new category on the blog and convert all the Rains post to JIHOON? And for the sake of his activities in US (since we do English work here) I have to refer to him with JiHOon from now on? NO WAY~!

Why is it us always us that have to bear with these guys … what do they do in return of all this? just so you could put your heart at rest… no, i won’t be one of those who’d ask you to call him by his “new” name… besides, i’m already tumbling over on voicing out ji-hoon… rain is easier to say and a lot shorter to type! teehee!!! then again, bi is way shorter but it means a whole different thing to me considering i’m not korean… ahaha!

i don’t think it’s very useful to change his posters into Ji-Hoon, most people noe as in Rain anyways or Bi. But I guess fans don’t really care that much like me…or do we?

Just chiming in to clarify the name changing matter. Did some research on it (from his US concert promoter) and turns out Rain is only going by Ji Hoon for his Atlanta/NY shows. Apparently there’s another band called Rain. In order to avoid confusion, those shows will be billed under Ji Hoon. It has nothing to do with his relationship with JYP or whatever rumors may be floating around. Rain’s stayin.

thx for the comment, now I finally know why Rain…Ji-Hoon had to change his name all of sudden, first I thought it was b/c JYP gave him that name and he left JYP then he might as well change his name… so he changed his name b/c there’s another band called “Rain” So anyone happen to know that band? Well, I’ve never heard of them…:D Anyways, thx again for telling everyone the truth behind Rain…Ji-Hoon’s sudden change of name!
