Pollstar? What’s that?
I mean it’s an unknown magazine.. but not complaining..
Just a brief explanation of Pollstar. Pollstar is an international trade weekly publication for the concert/music industry, similar to Billboard magazine. Our magazine is by subscription only mainly geared towards artist management, booking agencies, venue/artist promoters, talent buyers, record companies. We focus on the business side of the music industry, as you can tell by reading the Rain article.
I’m very excited about our Rain issue and that’s not just because I’m a huge fan of him myself. Pollstar sees great potential in him becoming the next big star in the Music industry in the States as we are all aware of Rain’s status throughout Asia. We’re also very proud to be the first U.S. magazine to feature him on the cover. A definite collectors item.
Penny: It was really difficult to get in touch with Rain, mainly because he was on such a tight touring schedule. Our interviews with him were schedule right in the midst of his two Bangkok shows. But yes I agree, he does need to practice his English skills. I for one am willing to volunteer for that duty. lol.
kudos for rain! i do hope he gets to achieve what he is set to achieve…
I understand what u are saying CY that language barrier is one big issue for these Korean artists … as a KPOP blogger we are going through hell providing what we do cuz in the first place it was us wanted to learn more about these guys ourselves … and yet after months of struggle .. we have not a single help from any Bilingual person over here .. so if anyone has to understand the frustration is us here .. and it’s already 2 years since they are teaching these guys some English but yet no improvement to even dream of having an English interview with them … still wonder about BoA’s actress dream in Hollywood! That SM guy likes talking!
CY i would have to fight you for the job of being Rain’s “friend” hahah
It’s been reported that Rain has been learning English for 2 years. Yet, I don’t hear any real improvement (he’s now almost superb at his concert English script though – he can now deliver it er…. faster).
He should have been able to do the Speed Racer interview in ENGLISH (since it’s nothing too difficult) but sadly, he stuck to Korean. He can’t be memorising scripts or saying “I’m so excited” or “Are you ready” forever >_
When overseas, he needs to lose his Korean minders so that he’d be forced to converse in English all the time.
can’t agree with u more!
interesting article..but that whole language barrier is not looking good..i know the man is busy but practice your ENGLISH..he needs a friend or someone speaking and conversating with him in english 24/7 that’s the only way to learn is be around those who can speak, write and read the language…but still looking forward to his movie and cd..
