Known as one of the best film festivals in Asia, Korea’s Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan) begins on July 12. Set to open the fest is South Korea film For Eternal Hearts by director Hwang Qu-dok, while Joko Anwar’s Indonesia thriller Kala will wrap things up on July 21st.
With 215 films playing throughout the seven day schedule, only ten will compete in the Puchon Choice Competition Section. Among those selected are Hong Kong’s Diary, Japan’s The Matsugane Potshot Affair, South Korea’s Resurrection of the Butterfly and Thailand’s 13.
Also planned for the festivities are retrospectives and special screenings from the works of Hiroki Ryuichi, Herman Yau, and Lee Bong-rae.
