Well from my last post, you can remember that I sort of compared these two. Well the results are, SuShi wins with a highly talked about album in Korea. But where is MIN? I haven’t heard any news from her in America, not even a radio debut or a music video to watch! And her Myspace hasn’t been updated either! But, it has been sworn with many comments asking where she is and where the awaited single is at. Let’s just hope this isn’t another Korean lie on artists debuting to America! It’s about time one of them actually gets themselves known here!

Okay, back to SNSD/SuShi!
First up, let’s talk about their music video (“Girls’ Generation”) which has been getting a lot of hype. For the most part, I know that people are really in love with how cute it was. But I wanna hear the other thoughts. Did anyone think there were any flaws? Well here’s what I thought.
The video was… well okay, it was cute… But I think they could have done more. The only part where I was really entertained was when the girls were all bunched up on top of each other and were pretty looking.. It looked like it was a cute Kodak moment that you have with your friends, and it showed how close they were. Plus, the girls were looking pretty!
But the best part was when they got to the main event of the MV, which was when they acted like they were a band. Just to let you know, SuHyun really is playing the piano, which was really cool. It showed that some of these girls really have musical talent! Her video of her playing a Chopin composition has been all over YouTube. I’m not sure about SooYoung playing the drums though. From the looks of it, it looks like she does know what she’s doing. Which is hot. But the guitar playing is so fake though. And don’t no one try and tell me otherwise beacuse I play guitar! They should have just let HyoYun have an awesome dance instead of fake playing the guitar. Also, I’m glad that YoonAh and Yuri sang more than SuHyun this time (if you haven’t realized, I’m not a big fan of SuHyun’s voice, and I don’t know why she’s a lead singer) and that they got more time on the MV. But who deserved more time on the song and MV and totally won my heart from watching this very BLEH video?
(And what is up with the quick scene changes and fast cam shots?! It’s freaking hard enough to learn their names and faces, then tell them apart, then see them in the same clothing… and they still insist on quick shots?! That only works on small groups, people! There are tooooo many girls!)

Why SooYoung? Well that’s easy! Because she is playing the drums (or at least I’m pretty sure for the most part), and the drums aren’t exactly the easiest thing to play, most of all, you don’t always see a girl playing it! I mean, yeah, SuHyun is playing the piano for sure, but most fans already knew she played really well!
After watching this MV, I realized HOW SIMILAR TaeYun and Sun Ye (from WONDER GIRLS) look. Not only that, but they also have the same pitch in voice!
Oh, and may I add that both girls also did that whole hand-to-the-mouth-in-shock thing?
To conclude the MV review, I rate a 5.5 out of 10 because this time the vocals were spread out nicely and SuHyun didn’t sound weird to me! I wanna see these girls have more fun dammit!
First performance (2007/11/01):
Can you really call them a comeback? They haven’t been absent from the media or performing! It shouldn’t be called a COMEBACK. They are acting like the fans were in dire need for more SNSD or something! I mean yeah, fans are always looking for more and more, but they’ve been snagging awards and performing everywhere…
I haven’t mentioned this yet, but I have to say, I think they could have picked a better song to choose as their “Comeback”. I like their first single “Into the World” better than this! This is pretty bad because this is from their album, and they should have picked a different sounding song to debut their album with. Then after listening to their album, they REALLY could have picked a better song too! Not another bubbly/up beat one. We gotta see their more serious side. I mean, I know it’s nice that they talk about girl power and what not, but show us more of your “loving” girl side, what girls REALLY think and sing about. Perfect example could have been songs from the second half of their album! I hate to say this, but I’m actually a bit disappointed.
Album Review: Now I won’t give you a play by play on what I thought of every song on their album. That will make this already long article even longer. I listened to the first half of the album fewer times than the second half, probably because I enjoyed it more that way. I’m not saying the first half is bad, but I guess the first song (which happens to be their album debut song!) just really turned me off. Which is pretty bad. Normally I would probably have skipped all the way through until I was satisfied, or stopped listening to it. But I listened to it because I’m a new (undercover) fan, and I had to review it a bit. I really liked track number 6 “Merry-Go-round”, it might be my favorite from their album as of right now.
What’s crazy is I can tell most of the main vocals apart (+YoonAh and Yuri) and I can’t even tell some of the WONDER GIRL voices apart XD.

“The titular track “Girls’ Generation” (Track 1) is a remake of Lee Seung Chul’s 1989 hit of the same name. Rearranged by accomplished composer Kenzie, the song appeals to both young and older generations, offering tunes reminiscent of the 1980s and full of youthful energy and funk. Other noteworthy tracks include the lively, rhythmic “Ooh La-La! “(Track 2) composed by Lee Jae Myung, house dance number “Kissing You “(Track 5), and “Baby Baby” (Track 3), a sweet confession of love written by Hwang Sung Je, whose previous works include BoA’s “Atlantis Princess”. Also, lyrical ballads such as “Tears “(Track 7) and “Complete” (Track 4), offer the group’s nine colorful vocals in perfect transparent harmony. Girls’ Generation aims to be a new generation representing all generations.”

FOR MORE SNSD LOVING :
Watch their comeback rehearsal. I did have videos of their photoshoot, but as soon as it was put up, it was taken down for violation! Wow, does that mean that the girls are closely watched? Oh well, I do have a bit of a sneak peak at their photoshoot, which you can download on their number one English fansite, >>AMBN<<
But who won their ‘Dolled Up’ Photoshoot?
YoonAh did!
>>YuRi<< was close behind, but YoonAh won it for me because she really fit the whole ‘trapped in a box because I’m a doll’ concept, hahah!
