Now I am mostly a rock girl at heart, but I do like pop…well some pop. Lately I have been getting more into Korean rock music because I feel that kpop is really not doing it for me that much nowadays. Don’t get me wrong I still have love for the many kpop artists that I mentioned in this post, so I haven’t fully given up on kpop. But krock is pulling me more and more to its side these days. So when I come across a group that can pull off both music genres it brings out the little hope I still have for the Korean music industry. Here is a band that I find that does that.

Loveholic is a Korean Pop/Rock group that many of you probably already heard about, but for those that never heard of them before here is some info on them.
The group debuted in 2003 and is made of three members; one girl and two guys. Kang Hyun Min and Lee Jae Hak formed the group in 2002 and they recruited Hwang Ji Sun as the vocalist in 2003.
Kang Hyun Min (강현민)-Guitar
Before forming the group Hyun Min was a pop musican and even produce music for artists like Park Hye Kyung, Shin Hyo Beom, Lee Moon Se, Suh Young Eun, etc. He also created music for many films like Christmas in August, A Pure Love Story and The Wonderful Days.
Lee Jae Hak (이재학)– Bass
He is a veteran songwriter and used to be a member of the band The Elephant.
Hwang Ji Sun (지선)–Vocals
The female vocalist had been singing in Hongdae clubs before auditinoning for the group.
The group’s music has also been featured on Korean motion pictures’ and Korean dramas’ soundtracks: Wonderful Life, My Name is Kim Sam Soon, One Fine Day, 200 Pounds Beauty, The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince, and others.

This song is sad and starts off mellow, but then the rock kicks in after a minute or so.
Nowadays some people have been complaining that this group changed after going mainstream. Which is tipical because that’s what happenes when rock music goes mainstream in Korea(sad I know *sigh*). This song is from their 2005 album.
Cheongchunyechan (glorious youth)

Roller Coaster is pop/rock, but with more of a jazz feel to it. They’ve been around since 1999. Find out more about them here:
