Eru was born in New York, USA. I read that on soompi on his thread some months ago.

And you can also read clearly on kbs global article that he was born in the US.

Yeah, that's sure a dumb move. Agree with Clair, take a big picture, with 2 years more stay in the business he will actually get more money and fame compare with the concert tickets alone. I think, depends on how he does. Anyways, having U.S citizenship is still better than shaving your head.

Sorry, but sometime you have to think about the big picture & your own future and stop trying to please your audience so much.

He gave up his citizenship and he will not get it back most likely if he ever changes his mind.

well, if you wanna be success in korea, koreans are gonna want to see some national pride and i think they expect him to serve cuz he seems more korean then someone like brian of ffts (not intended to be a good or bad thing, just stating an observation/opinion).....maybe he's planning on staying in korea long term, as his family's also there, and no matter what, pursue a career in entertainment?....
good luck to him though....
i do agree with the 2 posters ^^up there....american citizenship isn't easy to get~

^^^ agree w/ lily.

But then again, I've always wondered what it would be like to be born in Korea where everyone looked the same and shared the same cultures...wearing school uniforms and eating dukbokgi on the streets after class.

But...that's as a child and Eru is no longer a teenager growing up. He's an adult and to give up his US citizenship when there's no guarantee his career will pick up again after his service is up...is risky. Then again, someone mentioned his family lives in Korea...so that's a good enough reason.

well...he doesn't have to be born in the US to be a US citizen...u can always apply to be a US citizen. i think Eru made a dumb move. US citizenship is hard to get and he's giving it up.
