Daniel Henney will be starring along side Hugh Jackman in the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster film, “X-men Origins: Wolverine” to be released in May 2009. This will be his debut performance in the U.S. film industry.
Dominic Monaghan and Daniel Henney are the latest mutants to join the cast of Twentieth Century Fox’s “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.”
Ex-Hobbit and “Lost” star Dominic Monaghan will play the unfortunate mutant “Beak” and Asian newcomer Daniel Henney will be Weapon X’s “Agent Zero”.
Agent Zero, originally called “Maverick,” is an expert tracker, marksman and was a fellow guinea pig for the Canadian Weapon X program at the same time as Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Sabertooth (Liev Schreiber) and Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds).
LOTR alum Dominic Monaghan will be getting a less sexy role as “Beak,” a chicken-like mutant with hollow bones and lackluster ability to fly short distances. But don’t underestimate this lame chicken, which also has the ability to manipulate energy and electricity.
Hugh Jackman stars as the titular character, while Liev Schreiber, Danny Huston, Taylor Kitsch, will.i.am, Lynn Collins and Ryan Reynolds have already boarded the project, which is shooting in New Zealand, Australia and New Orleans. Gavin Hood directs from a David Benioff screenplay, which chronicles the origins of the talon-sprouting protagonist.
Daniel Henney has been filming in New Zealand since January of this year. He recently sent a message saying that he likes the mood of the film setting. Also, Hugh Jackman’s acting coordinates very well with his own.
Daniel Henney’s reason for picking “X-men Origins” as his debut film, “Although I received many offers from Hollywood in the past, they were usually for stereotypical, hackneyed Oriental roles that Western audiences are used to. However, the advantage of being a native English speaker and having a westernized physique can be utilized to play a different, more original role not given to other Asian actors; therefore, breaking the barrier of the stereotypical oriental character. The character in “X-men Origins” fulfilled my expectations, which helped me decide to play a role in this film.”

Whoa, two actor that I like, all in one post? awesome!
I think they’ll both do really well in these roles. Henney’s acting is kinda iffy sometimes, but I think he’ll do much better when playing an english speaking role not in the K-movie industry. It’s a change, hopefully he’ll be able to bring out some skills.
And go Dom!
