ahhh…b-boys…they have a tender place in my heart ^_^ I’ve seen many a bootlegged vids of Battle of the Year(s) but my favorite is probably Expression’s 2002 perf (mostly b/c it was the first vid i watched that literally took my breath away).

Before that b-boys were “backstreet boys” to me ^_^

eya, like what the previous post said, the boy band thing didn’t start in the states. i believe the beatles started the whole boy band craze.
i’m pretty sure the boy band thing will make a comeback in the states. the u.s. isn’t consistent w/boy bands & pop, while the rest of the world can’t get enough of them.
& y’all should go watch planet b-boy if it’s @ a theatre near you! was very well done. can’t wait for the dvd.
i think korea has always been in a retro mode. just that they diffuse the original, put their own twists to it, which makes it & fresh & their own.

I think that Korea’s in a very retro mode…I’m 32 and remember back in elementary school when break dancing was huge. It’s kind of cool to see it’s still around although it makes me feel kind of old.

B-boys are amazing. I want to dance like them T_T.Though I’d probably accidentally kill myself first.

That’s HYUNA? Wow… She’s my age yet she looks 10 years older than me… My favorite exmember though. It’s nice to see her again.

I think boy bands would be more popular if they were as hot as the Korea/Japanese/Taiwanese ones :B

For those of you who haven’t seen Planet B-boy (documentary on breakdancing), at this competition called Battle of the Year, Japan and Korea and dominated for the past few years as one of the top 4 dance crews.

yea the boy band thing was popular in the US at one time (and it might be starting up again)but actually all the major boy bands (besides R&B boy bands) became popular and well known in other countries before becoming popular here (in their own native country the US).

so the US actually jumped on the bandwagon when they saw that other countries were taken an interest in American boy band when America wasn’t.

i do have to say that when it comes to dancing (mainly hip hop). Asian ppl are way more creative and flexable when it comes to their moves and dance choreography.
