JYP’s long-time trainee Jo Kwon, and members from Mnet’s “Hot Blood Boys” Lim Seul Ong, Jung Jin Woon, Lee Chang Min have come together in a new boyband: 2AM. Will this boy group wake me up at 2AM to find myself drooling on my pillow or sweating from a nightmare? We’ll see…

Many netizens are eagerly anticipating one particular group member – Jo Kwon. In July 1, 2001 Jo Kwon was discovered on JYP’s star search program and have since trained for 8 years and showed his many talents on Mnet’s “Hot Blood Boys” in January 2008. Wondergirls’ leader SunYe who has become an idol star in Korea and G-Soul who is preparing for his debut with a collaboration with R.Kelly were both recruited from the same program. Jo Kwon will be joining three other members from Mnet’s “Hot Blood Boys”, which means that JYP probably gave up on the idea of making a ridiculously large boy group to challenge SM’s Super Junior.
But wait. CUBE Entertainment is taking charge of 2AM as their management group. So JYP isn’t debuting this new boyband? You mean JYP sold these boys over to CUBE?! I’ll let you ruminate over this perplexing issue. (And I’ll clarify once I get more info.) Anyway, CUBE entertainment said, “2AM will be made up of 4 members focused on music, and they will show a variety of talents and passion that they have accumulated over their long trainee experience.
JYP also left a congratulatory message to Kwon, saying “Congratulations Kwon. You have fought and overcome 2567 days and have succeeded just by the fact that you will stand on stage.”
2AM will make their first live performance on KBS Music Bank on July 11.
Check out Jo Kwon’s talents and see if he can wake you up at 2AM.
