Se7en Update

It’s been a little over a month since I last updated on this guy and just when we thought he was busy a with a girl (or just even busy chasing after girls)…more news of him appears! So here is a little info for the die-hards and a little update for those wanting to know how his life has been in America. He has also signed a deal with one of the three recording companies/labels that attended his LA preview party way back in May but YG or RQM hasn’t released any info on which company or label it is.

The Myspace page has been updated and was officially “opened” yesterday and it includes some pictures of Se7en and the infamous Bentleys that are featured in a lot of YG MVs. YG’s got something going for those Bentleys. There is also a link to Se7en’s Official Online Store, which sells the limited editions of t-shirts but they are only sold in the US (boo!). A Youtube channel has been launched, but it’s not as great as his Myspace, as it’s just full of old MVs and CFs but it brings back a lot of memories! But I guess it’s better than nothing for now and we shouldn’t be complaining because the PR team has made a lot of updates in the past few weeks. Also, for you crazy and addicted Facebookers, there is an Official Se7en Facebook Group and Se7en’s very own Facebook profile, though I’m sure the profile page and group is not ran by him…

For me, it’s great and I love the “I love you guys” part!

Apparently, Se7en will be a special surprise guest at the 2008 International Secret Agents Concert on September 7th. Other attendees include Far East Movement, whom Se7en collaborated with for his debut album, and Wong Fu Productions.

And the question we’ve all been waiting for…”when is he debuting?” No clue. But I know it’s soon. I read somewhere (don’t remember where >.<) that it’s supposed to be early next year. Like what Se7en said in the video above, patience is the way to go! At least he’s made it further than Rain has.

se7en isn’t even fluff anymore. He’s irrelevant even though I was hoping he’d make some kind of ruckus…but when I’ve seen Asian American artists more talented and hungry than him, I rather he go back to Korea. Anyways, It’s all about…FM’s “dance like Michael Jackson”…

What’s with the backhanded comment, rocketfuel? If FM is trying to branch out by releasing China/Japan versions of their CDs, Se7en should also be able to release stuff in the U.S. (whatever the outcome may be).

FM is good friends with Se7en and both help each other..

Minty: i’m sorry about the miscommunication but i’ve put “apparently” in my post, which i meant that it’s unsure but i some guy posted somewhere and he said he was working for this concert and that se7en will be there….

Until Se7en releases his album, he’ll only be used as a marketing tool to draw in “oriental” Americans and young preteen girls for events not related to him. He’s becoming less of an artist and more of a sideshow now.

but the sad thing about Se7en and even Rain’s stay in America is that they get awarded more for doing pretty much nothing but make appearances. Most Asian American artists who rely on their own abilities rather than seasoned producers and songwriters, will probably never make as much money to support themselves as they do just by showing up. Se7en had an advantage most Asian Americans don’t get easily and he had momentum to make a splash, but now he’s just being used. He even knows it which is why it will be harder to get him to support certain events unless it’s something he can use to launch his music. He should just release his album, pay radio stations to play a song, and have his fans keep on requesting it.

The longer he waits, the less relevant he will become.

I am not trying to diss on Se7en or anything. But dude how can he be rocking in those Bentleys and whatever when he didn’t even drop a record? I don’t see why he is portraying that he is GLAMOUROUS or whatever. Don’t you need the album to sell first before buying anything.
