HyoRi in London….

As an ex-Londoner I can only say that the clothes she is wearing do not match with London’s fashion mood. It’s not Hyori’s fault, but her stylists did a bad job. For me it is not a cool photoshoot from London, it’s a photoshoot about some Korean tourist girl being lost in some dodgy area.

OMG, she went to Hackney.
In the picture with her in the black and white holding a bag, I can see by block in the distance.

When the author of this article said “tramps,” I thought he (or she) meant “sluts.” Then I remembered that tramp in England means “hobo (homeless person)”. While in America tramps refers to sluts/skanks/hoes/whores/harlots/tarts.

it says in teh small korean caption (Rough translation): A place where you might see some secret hidden buildings/roads from the past

Old brick walls that might have been re-painted at least a hundred times covered with grafitti

The small worn out street cafes that linger among the buildings…

These are the things that made Lee Hyo Ri come to London.

As much as these areas are worn and old, they dont force themselves to fix the buildings (and keep up with the new modern type things basically) and get recognition for what they are (basically even with run down ratty places like this, london still gets a lot of recognition for both its old and new areas)> and i think right here is where the author kind of relates that to Lee Hyo Ri. Even though she grew older and reached her 30s, ppl gives recognition for who she is (not trying to pretend to be a sweet little idol like she used to be. Just being who she is and being accepted for that fact whether she is old or young)

so…i like it XD.

lol rabu_xiah, that’s what london stands for all together. She could go anywhere, literally anywhere in London and she would find the so called old constantly updated…

You dont know the places she visited, theyre like dangerous, lol. Lucky she didnt come across the wrong sort of people. Her shoot would have been so much better if they made their way to the riverbank per se, Baker Street, Covent Garden, Carnaby Street, Oxford Street, Piccadilly Circus.

The whole thing really seems sorta cheap, they should have given HyoRi a better landscape to work with. And those places wouldnt have that many people in them if they’d gone there early in the morning, making her spread more impressive.

If anything, this just makes London look trashy and that is piss-taking. I see no London charm at all, so do I like HyoRi in the pics? yes. The settings they picked? Hell no. I’m sure they’d be pissed if there was a “Days of Seoul” shoot by an English celeb and it only had pics in the poor outskirts and the ‘red light districts’ if you get what I mean.

as a person who lives in england and has been to london, this is one of the worse plases they could have taken the shoot with those clothes. I mean londo is big and out of all the places they decide to go to hackney!!!

LOL i laughed at the authors remark “tramps” lol reminds me of some yorkshire town in the 70s not london LOL

but if epople seee this and they dont know london im afraid i will leave a negative image!!!

i think the shoot was supposed to show someone high fashion in a place that is rundown… where you don’t expect to see high fashion

and why always show the famous places like covent garden etc… i think its nice that a different part is being shown for once…

I’m from east london… yes it can be dangerous… but it is trying to change… (although still don’t get why the olympics are in stratford lol)

If they wanted something obscure or cool, maybe something like camden would have been good or saville row would have been classy….

Im korean…and i dont really care if they do a photoshoot like that in a run down ghetto and place in korea or anywhere. as long as its in a fashion magazine. If it was a traveling magazine doing that then i’d get pissed as well cuz korea is not jUSt that. But a fashion magazine i dont really care because there must have been a reason why they chose that particular area for the fashion shoot..idk maybe it fit the concept, theme, w.e.

thankfully Ceci is not a traveling magazine so its not trying to promote london as a destination for traveling.

besides a lot of english fashion magazines already did those kind of things where they put a model in a trashy place. Even in america’s next top model

so its not a real issue with me if they do that with seoul for fashion purposes

So, as far as I can see.. Nobody here knows a thing about fashion and photography. Well at least rabu_xiah is talking some sense.

Let me tell you people who are unfamiliar with fahsion and photography that photos is not just a tourist tool. With skill, photos can give off different feelings and meanings. Do you think CiCi magazine is a tourist who is looking for London’s beauty attractions?? Obviously not. This is a fahsion shoot. So get over the stupid thoughts about how the shoot covers only tacky areas. I’m not the photographer so i can’t say exactly what the theme is, but an educated guess tells me it is meant for a glamourous Hyori placed in a rundown area. This giving a clear contrast and focus on the subject- Lee Hyori. I think this photoshoot was done extremely well.

So before you go and diss the photoshoot thinking it’s some tourist magazine like
rabu_xiah mentioned, talk with sense before you speak.

FYI, I am from London and actually, where ever you go that is what you get. You can’t say London is exactly glamourous can you? It is only in central London that you get the more modern and wealthier sites.
Also, I think it’s rather rude of you to call them two men tramps. They may not be the most affluent men but according to what I see, tramps on the street do not look like that. They are just TWO MEN for crying out loud! No need for TRAMPS.

so according to an educated someone who knows about photography and fashion, the exact theme of a photo shoot can only be known by the photographer?

Before you make rude comments, why not realize that THIS is a photoshoot and that even those two men are there, they are not tramps.

I’m from the UK. I’ve been living in Seongnam for 4 years and I used to live in London. I think those pictures sum up London really well. It’s one of the gloomiest, dirtiest, overpriced and overrated places on earth, with a few (not many) nice areas.
As musical_k pointed out, those two ‘tramps’ just look like your average resident of the UK. Not every British man looks like Hugh Grant or David Beckham!

oh she looks really pretty I really agree with musical_k. Hyori looks really pretty in her outfits, but why should the background bother people? it makes no sense, It is just a place in the city, grafitti and other things are normal. How is it trampy when she is covered???? and not dressed very racy?

i really like hyori, her style is really tremendous, even though shes not a teen she can still manage to look young, and dress like a tenage girld that other teenage Idol can’t go beyond her, she’s a great fashionista… in her picture you can see that even though its not a london style drees, she still manage to look great that picture… and also the photographer did a great job…
