i have a reply to that 3-4 last paragraph from the bottom.
"What better way to prove your loyalty to your heritage?"

my opinion is that nobody needs to state 'loyalty' to their own heritage. to set the world and life like this, sounds like a religion. like registering to vote, it's like you have to register and tell others what you like eating or how you celebrate holidays. what i mean is, do i have to show documented proof that my life exists?
heritage means 'something that comes or belongs to one by reason of birth' source: dictionary.com. im thinking, you dont have to change where you came from and who you are as long as you are capable of communicating. in jay's case, yes, he IS korean, but getting kicked because he 'should' get a passport to lighten his consequence, isnt right. i dont agree to this part of the paragraph stated in the above article. and there shouldve been something in the paragraph after that one that people change, and what jay said was of his past-mind. if i were korean and i heard this, PRESENTLY, yes i would feel like "why is this dude representing our generation?" yeah, but in this case, because he wrote it so long ago, no i dont think i would find offense in what jay said, at all.

my rant above was just about the two things i think dont give this article 10/10 justice. it was the only setback, but overall, i did enjoy reading it. im sorry if i didnt make sense because im not good at transitioning thoughts into sentences.

Amen. But it doesn't bring Jay back to 2PM, does it?

This whole situation sucks ass.

Imagine a randomer dug up everything remotely offensive or ignorant you've ever said...how much shit would YOU be in?!

Jay is a total sweetheart.
He's worked so hard and this just seems like such a fckn waste of all his time and talent.

I don't know they better bring him back. Koreans should stop being so fcking patriotic and selfish and give him another chance. This is all just too little, too late.

Oh wellies, FCK YOU KPOP! WE GET JAY BACK! SO SUCK ON THAT MOTHERFCKS!

those people who wish him to commit suicide, will they realise the implications?

can they answer to his parents if he really done it?
can they even answer themselves in the future?

gosh these f***heads should really think through their actions.

This is a very well-written article! And all of your arguments are very intelligent, and make complete sense... I completely agree with what you said! Especially about wishing harm on people part... I've read so many horrible comments about antis, and it really makes me sick about some of the things they wish on celebrities. It's as if they are not human anymore when they get behind that screen... really makes me fear for humanity. Anyways, I also agree that non-Koreans, like me, can't fully understand the weight of the issue... I was born in Asia, with very Asian parents, but like Jay, I grew up in North America, and am really more North American than Asian. I've grown up used to people being able to express all sorts of non-nationalistic, negative opinions about North America. But I do understand the netizens' point of view... I get angry if people who have little connection with Asia criticize my birth country or Asia in general, reasonable or unreasonable. I have to take time to calm down before finally thinking over their criticisms... so I guess Jay's Korean-American status are to them what non-Asians are to me. I don't wish harm upon them at all, and definitely not suicide, though! But then, I guess if people (myself included) fully thought over their actions and words, we'd be one step closer to a perfect world... but anyways, I enjoyed, and was even touched by, this article. Good work!

^^ By "never fail to disappoint", you mean never fail to deliver?

Because that one line contradicts your entire post. :P

Anyhow, totally agree. Thanks for the post, I really needed to know we were doing something that may make a difference.

Great article! You seriously never fail to disappoint! Instead of it being all about making Hottests all riled up and nervous you decided to take the high road and discuss the underlying issues within this controversy. I am a fan and I am not Korean so I realize I don't understand the weight of his words and would seriously listen to any anti's rational response to this (wait can anti's even have rational responses?) as to the extent of the offense they feel. I thought about it that if he had said he hated black people I would be pissed beyond belief no matter how long ago it was so I can somewhat understand I guess. And yes it should go without saying there are way more issues going on in the world that are in dire need of attention. *Sigh* I guess I'll go listen to Seo In Young singing about being a high class lady everyday cuz that always seems to cheer me up I hate that song but find that line hilarious haha.
