Oh yeah, did anyone go to FTTS concerts in LA (July 25) and SF (July 27) ?

Fly to the Sky released their new MV “Drunken Truth” from their 1st remake album, “Recollections.” It features actress Oh Yeon Suh. The song is a remake, originally sung by Kim Dong Ryul.

The title to this song is “취중진담”, which is hard to translate into English. It’s a comes from the phrase ‘In wine there is truth’. So I just gave it the title “Drunken Truth”. Others have gave called it “Talking while being Drunk” (which is a longer but more literal translation).

Fly to the Sky will be releasing a RECOLLECTION album on the 25th! The album will consist of old hits newly made that both Brian and Hwany “grew up on” and both guys will have their own solo track on the 10-track LP.

As you guys already know, Brian will be MCing again for this year’s Hollywood Bowl. FTTS will be having concerts in the US this summer and one of the stops includes LA in July! There will be a concert in either San Francisco or New York City, but dates have yet to be confirmed.

Brian will be starting a video folder where he will be answering questions from fans. This will allow people to see that he has a Myspace and Facebook account and will show fans a more personal side of him ^^ So if you have any questions for him, send him your questions and hopefully he’ll answer them! He will answer five fan questions per month on his video folder.

Hey my MYSPACE family,
Just wanted to let you all know that we will be releasing our newest album (which is a remake of hits from the past, excluding any Fly to the Sky past songs) on April 23, 2008. I really hope you all enjoy listening to the songs that Hwany and I grew up on… I gotta say that I was pretty nervous about this project because I did not want to mess up great hits from the past and make the original artists mad that we messed up their music…
We both have one solo track each on the album and making the album a 10-track LP. I really hope that this CD becomes a hit so that we can continue to make more music for you all to listen too.
Also, as you all know, we will be performing at the Hollywood Bowl on May 17th. We will also be in Japan in June and July… also, we should be having a Fly to the Sky concert in LA in July as well and another place in the States…I’m not sure if it’s gonna be in San Francisco or New York City. Once I find out, I will post it up here or on my FACEBOOK…
Anywho, I hope you guys are enjoying the awesome weather in where ever you are… The weather in Korea has been great for the past few days… God Bless you all and will be keeping you all posted…

Hey ya’ll,
Sorry to to inform you that the release date for our “RECOLLECTION” album has been pushed to the 25th instead of the 23rd… I hope no one is upset because it’ll only be 2 days longer then expected…
Also, I am going to start a video folder that answers questions from all you fans… This way, you guys’ll know that this is really MY “MYSPACE/FACEBOOK” and ya’ll get to see more of a personal side of me where you all and I can connect… and of course, you’ll know that this is not some fake homepage…
So, what I’ll need you all to do is e-mail me questions that you REALLY are curious about, and I’ll choose 5 questions and answer them on video once a month. I will state your name and say your question before I give my answer…
Please, don’t get offended or mad that I didn’t answer a certain question. I might not come around to answer it quickly, but eventually I will answer as many as possible until you guys are sick and tired of seeing me…HAHA…

Well Saturday was the concert so to all those lucky fans that were able to go…. I hate you all so much (nay just kinding), and to those that couldn’t go *sigh* hopefully we will be lucky next time to see them in person. Since I wasn’t one of the lucky people to go I really can’t give a great deal of description on the concert, but we will have one thanks to a loyal Shenyuepop reader Kimi who was able to go and will share her experience with us.

But from what I can get from the fan-cam videos and pictures the stage was kind of small, not the usual large scale stages they are used to. The stage was kind of bare with big TV screens plastered in the background; very theater like stage, some light work but not fancy or high scale light work, and no special stages. Which I think is ok because it just showcased their vocals even better. Brian and Hwanhee did solo and group songs, dancing, and all round entertaining performances as if it was a high scale concert. They looked hot as always wearing suits and Hwanhee even ripped off his shirt in one performance….

Not only did they perform they also played some games with the fans…..

it kind of seems like it was more like a fan meeting than a concert to me. Some fans account was that both Brian and Hwanhee were so sweet and kind, and took the time out to talk to everyone, but they did notice that Hwanhee was kind of shy especially when it came to him speaking in english…yes he and Brian talked in english, but I think Brian probably talked more than Hwanhee because of the language barrier. But it’s good that Hwanhee tried and all. After the concert they sighed autographs for fans like 100 or more, not sure.

One of the reasons why FTTS decided to go to Hawaii was that Brian’s brother lives there who also was there at the concert. Brian’s brother was so shy on the stage……GOD! Hey everyone my girl Kimi sent us an account of that night’s event.

The concert started at 7:00pm and ended around 9:45pm. Although it wasn’t a sold-out event, I would estimate that maybe 1600 of the 1700 seats were filled.

Because there were no moving stages or other props to help them out, the guys did a lot of moving around. In particular, HwanHee’s solo mix was filled with his hot dance moves and also featured a few male back-up dancers. (Here in Hawaii, we’ve had a few Korean music productions but not many of them brought back-up dancers, so this was a treat!). At the end of his set, he strips off his shirt! But it was a short-lived moment … he immediately turned around and walked toward the back of the stage. A lot of people just got photos of his bare back for this reason … they weren’t expecting it and it came and went too fast!

During “Right Here Waiting For You”, originally sung by Richard Marx, they brought out the gentleman who wrote “My Angel” to accompany their vocals on the piano. The guys did a nice version of the song.

“The Girl is Mine” / “Man 2 Man” … Brian and HwanHee played off each other … both chasing after the same girl. They got into a choreographed fight scene which was really cool and danced with a female dancer who came on stage for a minute or so to bump and grind with them.

Just like in Korea, you could hear the entire theatre singing along to “Missing You”, “Sea of Love” and “Gaseum Apado”. During the last song, Brian and HwanHee went into the audience and shook hands, hugged people, etc. All the while, you could still hear the song being sung by the audience without any vocals by FTTS. It was too cool!

In between sets, there was fan interaction and giveaways of autographed “Over the Rainbow” DVD boxed sets, calendars, CDs, etc. Lucky girls who won! They got to play a game in which a balloon was placed between them and either Brian or HwanHee (one on one), and the goal was to hug them until the balloon popped. You don’t know how jealous I was! Brian, in particular, was having a lot of fun with this. He picked girls up, spun them around and hugged them really tight until the balloons popped.

Contestants were chosen by a random drawing of seat numbers.

Brian was VERY sweet and funny, while HwanHee seemed a little shy. Both were appreciative of their fans and spoke of coming back to the Islands in the future to perform a bigger scale concert.

Even though the stage was small I am happy they actually did a US concert and is a great start that may lead to future performance here in the States. WE LOVE YOU FTTS!

I really hope this is true that FTTS will be performing in the US because this will be their first US concert that they have done. The company that is promoting it is Beauty Touch ,a company based in Hawaii, and the only place that is selling the tickets is at Hawaii Theatre.com.

Doing the research on this news was kind of hard because at Beauty Touch website, the forum is down and news section was also down, and at Hawaii Theatre, they were experiencing a heavy call load, so I wasn’t able to get through to speak to someone directly for more information. I really don’t think that news about the concert was suppose to be release this soon, so now those companies are experiencing a little bit of fan overload that they were not expecting.

Could this be the happiest day of my life?…..maybe not, but it’s darn close to it. Finally we will be able to hear the smooth sounds of hot Fany. All I can think about is will his album be all ballads or mixture of up tempos and ballads songs. But actually, I really don’t care because what ever he chooses to do I will be listening with a smile. There is no news on when the album will drop, so we will have to wait *sitting on hands anxiously*.

But first we check out Hwanhee in his upcoming drama “I Love You”, out in 2008.

It’s a story about a one night stand that leds to marriage because of a pregnancy. “It will portray the modern generation’s view on love and marriage as well as the responsibility of raising a child.” Ahn Jae Wook stars along side actress Seo Ji Hye as the newlywed couple.

Hwanhee plays the character of “Park Byung Ho, who was thoughtless, and threw away his child for a better income and life who later regrets this and learns to love.”

It looks like a fun drama with a little twist, so I will be looking out for it.

MKMF turned out to be a disaster because of a few main factors:

1. Attendees and performers
Some people received an invitation but didn’t go because of busy schedules…even though I don’t get how…cuz MKMF is like the biggest award show in Korea and like everything stops just for this award show! Some people rejected the invitation because they already knew they weren’t winning so going to this show will be useless. Getting all pampered up for this show is worst than a wedding…it’s like Oscar’s night in Hollywood! Some people decided not to show up an hour before the show started *coughminwoocough* and because some people didn’t show up, some performances were cancelled. Ivy didn’t show up because she’s still in hiding…but she can’t stay hidden forever…she’s gonna have to come out and face the media one day and everyone is waiting for that day! For some odd reason, only Junsu and BoA were to perform for Anyband…when there are 4 people in it and Tablo was there. FTTS didn’t show up for who knows what reason…they’re probably busy preparing for their concert! Minwoo’s cancellation caused JYP to stand alone on stage for like 10 whole minutes with the ugliest outfit ever…its worst than Andre Kim’s space suit and painted hair! Haha! AND NO, MNET DID NOT LIE TO THE TVXQ FANS! TVXQ and BoA were to arrive back in Japan but the excuse of “bad weather” prevented them from showing up! The weather was fine in Japan and was only raining and beginning to snow in Korea but people still walked the red carpet with no jackets!! Because my friend is a crazy Gackt fan, she said that he was in Canada (BC specifically) recently for a photo shoot so he probably able to make it to Korea if he took off from Canada, even though the weather here isn’t much better than Korea!.

2. Awards
I’m tired of hearing all the complaints on the results! MKMF had its judging criteria and wasn’t just based on the votes by fans!! And scroll half way down the page for more info about the whole process before u go on ranting about who should get which award… I’m sick of hearing non-stop complaints from fans!! And complaining now won’t make Mnet change the awards around! The voting/judging process is not rigged unless “professional” judges were playing favorites or if SM really paid or kissed his way in for the awards…haha!! Regarding the “Overseas Artist Award” on Arirang, blame all those people who made like 20 accounts just to vote for their favorite artists!! I didn’t cheat though! I had an account and I’ve had it for over a year now. Arirang stopped online registrations a few days before polls closed so it was too late to save the crazy voting!! So to all those fans out there who’s complaining about it, stop saying Shinhwa shouldn’t get it just cuz they didn’t have much overseas activities. It’s because their fans are very united, very supporting and they can never stop voting!!

3. Mnet and fans
More controversy came up when the TVXQ fans found out that their boys weren’t gonna show up. They got mad because they bought tickets (and who knows much how they paid!) and stood in line all day (so they could get good seats…seats were assigned). At the beginning and during the show, Mnet staff still said the boys were gonna show up and then as the show went on, the mnet staff then said they were showing up so the fans stood up and wanted to leave. Mnet on the other hand, already had its doors locked. It’s to prevent people without tickets and permission/authority from getting in. Mnet has the responsibility for the stadium since they’re renting it just for the show. They also didn’t want the fans leaving because it’s disrespectful to other artists and the fans took up most of the seats…meaning if the fans weren’t there, the stadium wouldn’t have been as filled. But I would’ve sued them if they didn’t let me out! Mnet then “apologized” and said they never confirmed that the boys were coming! But when I watched the show, just before the show started, they had this train going across the screen listing in alphabetical order who was attending the show! TVXQ, BoA, FTTS, Ivy, Wheesung, the Shinhwa boys and some other artists were among that list that didn’t show up!
