As usual a celebrity wedding is a star studded event and peoples outfits make you wonder if they think Weddings are a casual event, but this year I picked out one outfit that made me worried for a talented celeb.

I was kidding before when I said that Ha Jiwon is homeless, but you would think after the amount of moolah her last super hit movie Haeundae made she would buy herself something purdy.

Yet it seems like one of our favorite method actresses has been caught red handed rummaging through the “Take Care of Lady” closet and stole an outfit Yoon EunHye was wearing earlier on in the Drama Series.

KBS should tighten security.

Or she at least looks like she’s being served food in a homeless shelter.

Ha Ji Won is known to be a caring celebrity that goes on charity sprees with her fans and alone. She’s also an extremely dedicated method actress, where she spends months feeling pretty much what her character would be feeling, and doing what her character would be doing. I wonder if she did that for her horror movie role? O_O

She’s currently promoting her Disaster movie that stars sexy diva extraordinaire Uhm JungHwa, and she also had a Busan dialect on through the movie, so I may watch it for that, as well as JungHwa <3. (Can you tell I like her? )

The disaster movie “해운대 (Haeundae)”, should be out today or yesterday…I think.

Rain, tells you his story, “it’s true”.

This is the good old K-Ballads we are used to seeing… Dramatic Music Videos (while sometimes having no relation to the emotions expressed in the music) accompanied by smooth vocals . Rain has perfected the “stoney” faced look and his dopiness can be cute and annoying, depends on how you look at it.

I am ok with it, it looks like another grower, most importantly though, can Rain stand on his own two feet well without good ol’ JYP?

Rain is releasing his Fifth Korean Album soon and has entitled the album “Rainism”. What is with Celebs these days and their strange Comeback Album names? Lee HyoRi started it with her “It’s HyoRish”, and the DBSK men tried thier go with the name “Mirotic”. Rain will start his promotional activities this week with a performance in the MBC Dream Concert on the 9th and MBC will air his comeback showcase on the 17th.

Talented actress Ha JiWon will be staring in his Music Video “Love Story”, teasers have been released and are “interesting”, we’ll post the video in it’s entire release. Mostly because I hate the “teaser” trend, it’s too annoying for words.

But it will be interesting to hear and see what he does without Grand Master JYPs backing.

Big Bang release their new MV

The Big Bang boys have released their new MV, which I’m guessing is for Japan since it’s subbed in Japanese. They shot the MV in Seoul, because I actually recognise some of the dancers, that is as detailed as my research is. Watch it for yourselves and tell us if you think it’s going to be a big hit.

G-Dragon needs to be told that glasses are made to improve your eye sight, not bar you from seeing completely. Sometimes I commend his boldness, but the glasses thing is getting boring. JYP desperate for China and the U.S

Well, it sure looks like it.

JYP announced earlier this week that a “Chinese Wonder Girls” are in the works to take over the Chinese charts like their Korean counterparts. He actually sounded a lot like LSM to me, when he claimed that Zhang LiYin was the “Chinese BoA“, and well, it’s only a matter of time to see the “Female Big Bang” (Thank God YG isnt branching out to a Chinese Headquarters, the Korean Music Industry is in a bad enough slump). Everyone wants to remake they’re most successful artists I guess, don’t they know that individual charm is most successful? If you label them something beforehand, they wont be able to shine on their own and won’t be taken seriously.

Apparently the Wonder Girls are also going to be either making it as singers or actresses in the States, when they plan to debut there. What’s so bad about the K-Music Industry that everyone wants to be anywhere but there? Shouldn’t the big Cahoonas try and improve the Industry and make it so fresh and lively that people from abroad will take a huge liking to it, without having to try every method under the Sun trying to make it big somewhere else? I like the “make them come to you wanting more” method, rather than the “try to make it big without that much interest” method.

It’s seriously infuriating that Big Record Companies and every one else involved, complain about the slump and do nothing about it. Instead of complaining, how about putting more effort in to the “music”, in to the promotions, make people interested instead of running to other Industries abroad where more money is available. The HallYu wave spread because of foreign interest in the Korean culture, not because they sold arms and legs to get their Music, Movies and Dramas to garner some interest abroad. Something needs to be done about these Companies and their lack of Nationalism, funnily enough their reasons are “for the sake of Hallyu”, sure, I believe you(!).

Jung Ryu-won, formerly from girl band, Chakra is another singer who made it big after turning into acting. She came to our notice as the ex-girl friend who refused to let go of Hyun Bin´s Jin Hyeon in My Name is Kim Sam Soon, much to our chagrin. Thereafter, Jung Ryu-won appeared in Korean dramas: Which Star are you from with Kim Rae Won as the long lost country pumpkin sister who is a death ringer of KRW´s character´s death wife, and April Shower with Oh Ji Ho, the drama panned by critics and was lowly rated to some extent, I believe the audience did not like their characters´ irresponsibility. Oh Ji Ho´s character eloped with Ryu-won character thereby abandoning his wife who is in coma and who was her best friend´s husband whom she was in loved even before the wife went into coma! And after the wife regained consciousness, Oh Ji Ho´s character could not decide whom he would love enough to make a decision among them!

Among the other singers who became more successful as an actress are Eugene, formerly from SES; Yoon Eun Hye, formerly BabyVox who burst into fame via Korean drama, Goong-Princess Hour; and Ha Ji won who gained fame initially in the horror genre. It was reported that Eugene is a better actress than she ever was as singer!

Jeong Ryeo-won was not an “It girl” when she was a singer in the group Chakra – a Korean all-girl band. When she turned her career path to acting, she didn’t draw much attention at first, and it was common at the time for many singer-turned-actors, many far more famous and popular than her, to become the target of harsh criticism for their low-grade acting. But with the success of “Hello, Francesca,” a situation comedy, “My name is Kim Sam-soon,” a drama, and “What’s your star?”, another drama, she made a soft-landing as an actress.

Now, she has made her debut as a movie actor. In her first movie, “My girl friend has a double personality (a tentative title), soon to be released on September 13, she appears as a person with an identity disorder. In the movie, she plays a naïve and dreamy girl named “Ani,” but suddenly turns into the violent “Hani.” Actor Bong Tae-gyu played her shy but generous boyfriend. The movie is reminiscent of “My Sassy Girl” to an extent, but it has a cartoon-like fun factor and it is enjoyable to watch the two extreme personalities played by Jeong. Jeong said, “I like acting so much that my heart beats fast.” She seemed like a nerve-wrecked student waiting for the result of an exam.

Q. This is your first leading role. You must be nervous.

A. At first, I turned down the role. It seemed to involve enormous burdens. But I thought that without taking on such a challenge at this point, I couldn’t grow further as an actress. Buying a house while being overstretched eventually turns out to be a better choice than renting a house.

Q. You said at the movie premier, it had been your dream to stand before an audience at a premier.

A. I always thought, ‘when can I do that?’ I go to Megabox at Coex to watch a movie three times a week. And I stand before movie fans at this theater! Two days ago I came here alone to watch ‘Ratatouille.’

Q. The fighting and swearing character strangely suited you.

A. I am not a violent girl like Hani, but nor am I a girly-girl. I was struck when people were surprised at my acting skill. I realized that people thought of me as a frail girl who always needed protection. I am like a strong sunflower, not a fragile flower.

Q. Were you at all confused while playing two completely different personalities?

A. I had to change my personality with a blink of an eye. But when you put your mind to something, you find out just what you are capable of.

Q. In your movie, there is a line that reads: “If God exists, he should guarantee a recall, when his creature is flawed.” Do you want any part of you recalled?

A. I suffered an inferiority complex. I thought I was always unhappy in the past but not anymore. I read from a book that people are happy when they are content with what they have. (lifts a cup) If you are born as a cup like this and there is no point of being jealous of a bigger cup.

When I said, “You’re right, but it isn’t easy,” she responded, “You can brainwash your own brain. You can.” She seemed a stronger person than I expected. She said when she had returned to Korea after 9 years living in Australia, she didn’t want to speak with awkward pronunciation like those who spent long years overseas so that she practiced Korean pronunciation from a book all day.

Q. Part of your impressive image is the fact that you are a fashionista. You don’t look so dressed up. Your not-too-overt but chic layered look is absolutely fabulous.

A. You think jeans and T-shirks look cool enough? That’s a lie. You don’t look so fabulous wearing just plain jeans and a shirt. You have to wear jeans and shirt that fit you well. To that end, you should know your size and shape. If you have narrow shoulders, you choose a loose-fit shirt. You can create your own style when you know yourself well. I have lots of ideas about fashion. Sometimes I go to the whole sale market to buy materials and I make my own accessories.

Q. I saw you gorging Korean pork barbeque in the movie. And here you are eating ice-cream.

A. I gain weight easily so I have to work out hard. I jump rope 1,000 times and walk 10 km every day. I exercised during the movie shooting too. I think fame requires responsibility. When celebrities are asked a secret of flawless skin, they answer with the same old lie. Please; They get facials!

Having been observing the above two Korean heart-trobs who are my No 1 and No 3 Kfavs, respectively, they are as different as chalk and cheese! In Sung is manly, fair, tall and handsome whereas Jeong Hoon is girly, darker complexion, not as tall and pretty!

Jo In Seong is a sweet talker and always politically correct in his replies to the press, to the extent that he almost never gives his opinion, treading carefully so as not to offend or tread on toes of people. At the ’Hanryu Romantic Festival 2007’ was held on 23 June at Japan Goodwell Dome, he was introduced as the one who sweet talks the most. Gong Yoo explained, “although I am not sure how he is towards women, Jo In Sung sweet talks to his seniors and juniors. If you ask him where he is now over the phone, he will reply “I am in your heart, hyung (older brother).” (laughs).

Kim So Ra who acted with Jo In Sung in Madeline, echoed the same comment when talking about Jo In Seong during an interview last year.

After the controversial ending of Korean drama: What Happened in Bali where the character he played Jang Jae Min shot the other two lead characters and then shot himself on his head on the beach in beautiful Bali, Jo In Seong was asked whether he would have preferred the drama could have ended in another way, he said something to the effect that he is a junior in the industry, so the writers ended the drama correctly.

To illustrate his usual non committal replies, Jo In Sung was quoted as saying in the above Hanryu Romantic Festival when he was asked the question “which role does he feel closest to his real self”, Jo In sung threw the question back to the audience and asked them “which role is the most similar to me??” Most of them answered “Jung Jaemin in What Happened in Bali” and he received cheers from the audience when he replied wittingly “yes I feel the same way as everyone”.

The instances where he spoke candidly were his comments about the two female co-actors whom he worked with closely, i.e. the recently married Park Kyung Rim (Jo In Seong played her love interest in the Non Stop series, it was comical just watching them together, he was younger, handsome and tall and she was short and squat in comparison) and Ha Jiwon, (in What Happened in Bali). When he was first introduced to Park Kyung Rim´s fiancé, he thanked (tongue in cheek) him for rescuing all the other Korean men by marrying Park Kyung Rim. On Ha Jiwon, he said that she was like a man (I need to clarify what I think he meant was during the shooting of Bali, the crew went out for drinks and Ha Jiwon had never refused an invitation to drink with the guys) but he respects his Jiwon nuna and both of them mutually agreed during separate interviews that they wish to work with again. They kept in touch even after Bali ended and she advised him on his acting in A Dirty Carnival. (watch these 2 actress in the clips in my previous post, in the link below)

Jo In Sung was told he would not succeed as an actor

Jo In Seong will be celebrating his 26th Birthday this Saturday, 28th July. I do not know how he will be celebrating it but it can be quite sure his side kick, Kim Ki Bang (the short stumpy kitchen helper who did the butt wriggling dance in the Jin Hyeon´s restaurant aka Xman in My Name is Kim Sam Soon) and Gong Yoo (his gym and drinking buddy) could be drinking with him provided he could tear himself away from shooting Coffee Prince.

On the other hand, Kim Jeong Hun bores us with so much details in his lengthly interviews and he loved to regurgitate the story of his mom sending him out of the house naked during winter (before anyone getting excited, he was 5 years old). I liked the best about him being caught using the Ladies Toilet because the Gent´s toilet ran out of toilet paper. So logical and true to life happening that I could related with. I too have used the Gents when the Ladies toilet was occupied. I guess it is his way to tell such embarrassing news himself before they get reported out of context by gossips! Smart strategy. (NB: Baby cheeks has changes his earrings from diamonds with gold settings to sapphire with platinum. Hmm, those dark blue sapphires are typically from Thailand!)
