For the organisers that is.
You would think that after 10+ years the DC people would figure out how to get this done, flawlessly.
But before we get to my ranting, here are some pics from the show from Newsen, and yes I do enjoy going there to secretly watch the “Come to Thailand” ad with music, damn is that song catchy. Ahem and in no particular order….

2AM sang “this song”, not that song, just this one.

Kara rocking the stage or wiping invisible windshields?

Big Bang back in action as a quintet, volunteering to wash cars for Kara…

f(x) making sure that the most awkward yet experienced member is most visible. That’s you Victoria!

Sorry Sorry Super Junior forgot KangIn but brought along Kibum? REALLY?! Or am I just seeing things?

Restrain the beast! 2Pm looked lonely and missing a lot of passion without leader JaeBom.

4minute boogied down with their sexy muzic, while looking not so sexy…
I got bored saving individual group/artist pics so I saved this one…

A part from the fact that DC was delayed for over 4 months, which doesn’t give the organisers any excuses to have faults, there were some cancellations and controversial decisions made by the DC team.
Originally the show is in the early summer months but with sponsorship problems it had to be postponed to after the summer. If my memory serves me right DC was a free show but apparently this year you had to pay for your tickets.
Adding to that, the headliners DBSK had to cancel due to their legal issues with SM Entertainment (Slave Management E to me and you), 2PM were made to perform with 6 members although there is so much hullaballoo with the company and fans (They’re boycotting!). DC also didn’t keep their promise about making DC a more family event and not Idol centric. (Who are they kidding?)
The stars showed up late (what do you expect when your known as pushovers?), the show ended up starting late and a lot of reporters and photographers ended up leaving early.
And have I been hibernating but I was pretty sure that ELF (Super Junior fans), were not very happy with Super Junior M at all… So why include them in the lineup?
And what an insult to 2AM fans to add them at the last minute when the show was sold out. Ouch.
At least DaeSung showed up last minute for Big Bang but they wont be shown on TV as well as 2PM…
Honestly, I wasn’t planning on catching this thing altogether, the only performance I wanted to watch was 2PMs and that was out of sheer curiosity, yet that won’t be aired. Lucky we have crappy fancams, eh? =_=
Highlight of the whole debacle though? The 40,000 strong crowd chanting 2PM leader Park JaeBums name before 2PM took the stage and as they started performing their hit single “Again and Again”. Total win. And if JYPE don’t bring back the leader after that, they are officially the second idiotic entertainment company in South Korea…. SM still owns them at that, at least. On the other hand, the longer they let people linger and let the 2PM fans boycott and give them free publicity with events, they could be milking it for all its worth and in result get the most money back when they announce his comeback.
I must also say that I’m mighty impressed with the 2PM fans and their charity work and persistance. Work it peeps.
I guess DC is great at one thing, and that is making Dream Concert the most hyped and most controvercial show each year. Last year we had fans protesting against a group but this year we had fans protesting for a group… And I guess that is an improvement.
Here’s hoping next year Dream Concert has better organisers and sponsors!
