I am so thrilled to be finally posting news of my 4th Korean fav, Lee Dong Wook who was rather forgettable in his last movie, The Perfect Couple, so much so that even though I watched the movie just last month, I could not recall what the movie was about. Nevermind, I am glad his Japanese fans did not forget him!

Korean star, Lee Dong Wook´s popularity in China, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines and other places, cannot be compared with Bae Yong Jun and others in Bae´s category.

Recently, Lee Dong Wook officially founded his Japanese fan club and at the meet the fans, more than 14,000 fans attended. The day before yesterday, a pictorial album was received from relevant people from Japan which drew much attention. On 11th of this month, internally in S. Korea there will be held a Lee Dong Wook´s birthday party where 200 of his Japanese fans will attend. (NB: LDW´s birthday is Nov 6)

In Southeast Asia, Lee Dong Wook has become the centre of popular sentiment due to his collaboration with Lee Dae Hee in SBS´s My Girl last year for his role as the considerably charming rich heir. In particular, his role as Julien is well known among the overseas fans.

Lee Dong Wook said: “really very grateful for the support of overseas fans.”

oh well, if you insist *shrugging shoulders* there’s a bit of feminine touch in it, don’t you agree? -_- maybe the dog is a girl..or maybe the girl is another species, like human?..hmm..enlighten us, Wookie darling!

 aaanyway, i just happened to find these Wookie’s canine pics as i browsed randomly, not that it’s a big thing, i mean, who cares about a stranger’s dog and what it wears on it’s neck, right?RIGHT??

*doubting myself, and slowly raising my hand* oh well..

PS : i forgot a thing, that by these pictures, i found a tremendously great reason for Wookie to choose me as his partner for life (in a romantic way, i prefer): we love animals. I’m sure my two kittens will get along very well with this so-cannot-pose terrier..

PPS  : Why do they choose small toy dogs?like Brian, his dogs are those tiny white fluffy thing, and LDW chooses a terrier…i wish when So Ji Sub or Jo In Sung decides to have a dog, it will be Golden Retriever or something big and manly like Doberman..

Rating : i let my heartbeat raced for nothing

why on earth did i even watch this movie? horrors ain’t do no good to my health…even the ugliest one always makes me nearly get heart attack..

so after a row of boring drama and movies plus one good movie in a day : finishing Witch Yoo Hee (So long..oo..Dennis..), an old city drama Fog Street (ended up with a foggy head. my review : ‘what a waste of money’), chinese Kungfu Fighter (even Vaness Wu couldn’t save it), and Jang Jin’s script Big Scene (my 4th time screening the movie. am thinking to make a review later on), i said to Lee Dong Wook, “Ok, babe, make my day.”

BLAH.

i just finished it, now is about 8.30 in the morning, and i still can’t get rid of the freakin’ scenes outta my head. i fastforwarded and muted and shut my eyes and ears, and still having the damn shack in my mind. (oh..blurt it out, i don’t mind at all. i am INDEED a coward on this thing.)

oh, Arang is unique. the ghost is not like any other horror flicks. oh yes, it’s a girl with long messy hair, and bends her head like an underdog high school girl. but it wears BLACK dress..so creative..

the story itself is about a murder that leads to another murder, and then another, and another…Song Yoon Ah (Soo Young) and Lee Dong Wook(Hyun Gi) play the new-paired detectives investigating the case. after a few fact findings, they find out that all these murders somehow connected to an old case happened in a salt village 10 years earlier. the victims are those who were involved in the previous case, and seems like they all killed by odd reasons, and they all saw ghost. hmm..a serial killer ghost. now where have i heard about this before?… 

Lee Dong Wook is no charming magnitude here. he’s more like a human. *sighing love*  (have you realized how shallow i can be sometimes?) He is a rookie homicide detective, switching his career from forensics. (i dunno about you, but i find forensics hot…)

After the detectives found out about the salt village case, they run after the next person who was involved. but he’s hiding away, feeling distress for haunted by ghost. and how do our homicides find him?well, they break into his house, and apparently, the guy left a magazine opened, just exactly on the page where he’s leaving for. jackpot!

things get ugly when things get revealed. Hyun Gi’s not there just for a new experience. all these have something to do with his past.

then nearly by the end of the movie, i thought, hell, it’s not even a horror, it’s a sad movie.

 but just when i felt relieved…dammit! it IS a horror movie!! 

all in all, there’s nothing special about this movie. it’s a thriller with horror and sad romance get blended, but doesn’t turn out to be that good.

when there’s an elevator, you know something’s gonna show up.

Rating : entertaining…especially when you finally aware of the storyline by the second time you watch the movie, coz the first time all your eyes, your ears, your concentration were being sucked up by Lee Dong Wook alone.

it was released on January, so maybe some of you people have watched it, but if you haven’t, spoiler warning for you.

Soo-Jin is a hard-nosed reporter with a flair for the dramatics. Jae-hyuk is a detective
with a phobia of sharp edges. One day, as Soo-Jin is enjoying a skewered tempura
from a street vendor, she sees her car being towed. But as she runs to catch up with
her car, she accidentally sticks the skewer into Jae-hyuk’s side. From that point on,
they seem to always run into each other at the most awkward times. Yet through it all,
they begin to form an interest in each other. (showbox)

I wish it happens in the real life. A journalist and a smokin’ hot detective. So I have a good reason to stay where I’m standing at.

This is a very light romantic comedy, with the formula that we usually find in Korean dramas, cold-bad tempered guy vs lively girl.

Now what can I say about this movie? …let’s see…have I said this is a very light romantic comedy…oh I have…, hmm…what else…wait, I’m sure I’ll come up with something…

ok here we go. the storyline’s a bit forced. the girl journalist Soo Jin accidentaly poked the hot detective Jae Hyuk with a skewer, and from that moment on, it seemed like they bumped and scratched each other on every step they made.

What’s more, she was suddenly assigned to make a reality show, and guess who’s chosen to star the program?yeah, oori Jae Hyuk.

 and the story went on, she got involved in a case and caused some problems…

and experienced the fun along the way..

and as the real crisis began

love came to save the day..

at a cost

but love conquered it all…

the end.

LOL…i can’t think of any further comment on this movie..

right..not so many romantic scenes, but the movie’s cute enough. and here’s another cute character i like in this movie…

i set my eyes on this matter long time ago, since i saw the fake smoking thing by Kwon Sang Woo in My Tutor Friend (inhale, dammit!) and felt itchy about it. so i tried to find out does he really smoke in the real life (which of course the answer turned out to be no, as i assumed) 

see, i don’t really care about who smokes and who doesn’t. but i found this  one forum where fans are fussing about smoking korean actors, and most of them are talking like it’s so bad that they smoke with,you know, pretty faces and that they are being public figure and people are watching them, smell like ashtray, and bad for health.

LOL  these guys are old enough to buy their own pack of cigarettes and read the warning on the box. i think it’s just a matter of personal choice. that also goes for us the fans.   

as for me, that’s fine. some of them even look hotter when they smoke. even tho i’m not sure how they build those six packs with cigarettes on their mouth. 

so anyway, just in case you haven’t seen any hunkylicious (ewww isn’t that word lame or what) with cigarettes, here i got some for you to see. oh, and about joo ji hoon, after the news spread that he quitted butting fags few months ago, seems like he’s getting back at it coz the picture was taken a month ago. guess this is one of his ways of loosing weight..

and according to the forum some of Kmale celebs that smoke are Kang Ta, Hyun Bin, Won Bin, Kim Rae Won, Shinwha boys except for Dongwan, Lee Ji Hoon, Lee Dong Gun, Lee Jun Ki, Tempo from BigBang, So Ji Sub, Jo In Sung, Kangin from Suju, Kang Dong Woon, and uh the list seems like endless..pfew *wiping my forehead*
