I have a strong suspicion that IVY has taken up black magic and has possessed the sweetie pie that is Song HyeGyo. After all her actions recently have been quite peculiar… Not the dating part, but the openly dating a hot stud of a man, HyunBin, and being OK with everyone knowing.
Nonetheless, she still looks good and I fairly like these shots of her in HIGH CUT.
I liked her more “experimentative” spreads that she’s been doing lately, but she looks good no matter what.
HyeGyo, “Worlds Within” was a crap drama, I really really tried to continue to watch it/like it, but at least you got a man out of it, a hot one at that.
Ever since he landed on Earth a few hundred years ago, Andre Kim leapt out of his Space Pod and tried to introduce his very own “style” to the world. After a couple hundred years without catching on, he moved to Korea where he was welcomed with open arms.
And he is there to this day, wearing the same outfit he did when he graced the planet all those centuries ago. And finally, everyone is starting to wear clothes that are just so ginormous you could have a monkey friend or three stashed inside. Don’t be fooled by the Mass Media, Hip Hop did not start that trend, Andre Kim did.
Every year he has a “Fashion Show” made of last years house curtains in the exact style as the last, but no one has caught on yet… Most importantly, people are rocking his style and I’m sure he’s ecstatic about it…
Zhang Ziyi looks like she’s Andre’s Queen, and that she inspired this outfit that Lee HyoRi wore a few days ago for the Mnet 20’s Choice:

No matter who wears it and how much they kill themselves to look decent in it .. the color and the whole alphabet concept is just not our cup of tea! unless there is something practical into it , say for instant helps the celebs to learn their English dose of the day? in that case someone send a pair to Rain ASAP? According to CeCi Magazine, one of the Fashion Capitals of the World, is full of scaffolding, graffitti, tramps and dodgy rooftops. Admittedly, I know for a fact those places are in London, but the places you avoid, much like any dark and dingy area in any city… What takes the piss the most is that the title shot with “The Days of London”, has two tramps in the background burning some dirty trainers (running shoes).
How is that London life? Especially in a so-called Fashion Magazine? I don’t blame HyoRi, she looks great and worked with what she was given. Nevertheless, this spread makes London and Londoners look like a place for hookers, tramps and constantly being a “work in progress”. They really have no excuses, or perhaps this was the “theme” and set image they had to give. Whatever, CeCi magazine needs to get a new Production team, they’ve really outdone themselves with the tastelessness in this one. If these are “the days of London”, I really don’t want to see the “nights”.
By they way, HyoRi in the picture with the graffiti, you look like you’re in East London. My friend got mugged by a dodgy looking guy dressed completely in fake Burberry, did you happen to see him? And/or throw a tramps trainer at him?

After Choi Jin Shil’s sudden death, Lee Hyori watched her two kids for a day.
Hyori apparently didn’t know Choi Jin Shil very well, but she has always been her fan and she decided to do this since Choi Jin Shil’s second child is also a big fan of Lee Hyori. Lee Hyori visited Choi’s house at October 8th around 10 PM after finishing recording of SBS Good Sunday Family outing, She played with the kids, read books together, and put them into bed. She gave them her autographed CD as a gift. She even stayed up all midnight to check on them. A source who is close to Hyori said that she is worried of the future of the kids, it is said that when Hyori went back in the car, she cried so much.
On the other news, he pillow was sold for 1,385,000 KRW on 8th October during the Star Charity Auction to help children with serious diseases. All the said money will be donated full to the patient’s who suffering from leukemia and children. Sudden surge of these sorts of heartwarming news won her the title of “Angel without Wings” among her fans. Ahn JaeHwans depressing death
Not many people know Ahn JaeHwan internationally, except perhaps that he is married to Comedian/DJ Jung SunHee. Nevertheless, this man was as funny and sweet as his wife. He took part in many variety shows and was loved by plenty, when he married Jung SunHee he seemed like the happiest man on Earth. Behind it though laid a sad human being that took his own life in seclusion. Ahn JaeHwan was missing for a month before his body was found in his own van, and he had been dead for nearly 2 weeks (10-15 days). This of course, is devastating news and this year has been a sad year in Celeb-dom. Ahn JaeHwan rest in peace and our heartfelt condolences are sent to his wife, family and friends.
2PM in the evenings… aaaahh… so that’s the secret to their energy…
2PM have finally debuted and they blew many a person away with their dance moves. When I watched their debut performance I couldn’t help but marvel at their dancing. I mean they were really well choreographed (what else do you expect from JYP), although the song is a little on the naughty side, I do like it. The dancing made it easier to stomach, it was more light-hearted. Their singing though, was as expected not that great since, a) it’s live and b) debut performances are hardly flawless. Looking forward to them getting used to the stage and blowing us all away with their more vocally-talented other halves…. 2AM.
Ya Shim Man Man making celebs dish since ever
Ya Shim Man Man is back, and oh has it been missed. Once again every episode seems to have celebs revealing a new secret or embarrassment. The first episode was aired on the 1st and Kim Heechul of Super Junior revealed a thing or two. Heechul revealed how after performances of “Don’t Don!” at the time of the Super Junior second album, he was told to scream his rock star scream at every performance. That very thing was the source of coughing blood after the performances. Can you say, damn? He also humorously added how he was asked if he was a “cyborg” at an airport because the metal detector kept on beeping, although he had no metal on him. The reason of course being that he has a metal rod in his leg, due to an accident a year or two ago. I can’t do his story telling justice, one must watch the show to truly enjoy it. Welcome back Ya Shim Man Man you were missed, and Kang Ho Dong is as cute as ever.
Another exciting comeback!
Oh yes, girls and boys alike can get excited with the comeback of Koreas favourite boyband, DongBangShinKi. The Dong Bang boys are on their way back to their motherland for their fourth album, it was announced last week. We can all expect their album released on the 24th of September. With their picture releases, one can tell that they are coming back with more of a raunchy manly image… bordering on strongly sexy. Girls may appreciate that the most… Music wise also goes along the lines of their image… Check out the teaser…
YounHa comeback performance Like a bowl of Kellogg’s Corn Flakes in the morning…
As long as we’re on the subject of comebacks, we need to mention YounHa. Her refreshing vocals and “different” style of mainstream is nice to listen to, and of course she is adorable. She made her own comeback performance last week on Mnet, showing how lively she is on stage and how well she can do live. Looking forward to more performances, and of course listening to her entire album. The Tablo (Epik High) collab I am keen on, and title track “Someday” is a good listen too.
Big Bang new album to hit Japan this October
Yup, Big Bang are releasing a Japanese album this October, as well as their Korean I gather. Big Bang seem seriously busy what with everyone doing something different, as well as promoting their mini album. Haru Haru is doing extremely well, and a well done to them for that. We wish them a lot of luck in their Japanese efforts, they have done well so far.

The underground in South Korea is so much richer than it may seem. Although Kpop is interesting unto itself, the underground music scene boasts amazing talent. After all, Epik High were once under the Underground title themselves and look at how creative, talented and artistic their music is. EZ Hyoung is one of those talented people that need to emerge completely from the underground and be welcomed in to the mainstream. His vocals are soothing and touching, the video is artistic and absorbing. Two years of writing, composing and producing, at least deserve a look-see dont’cha think…

First of all, in those pictures I could barely recognised the young talented songstress. YounHa looks stunning in that dress for sure. Anyhow, YounHa comes back to Korea for the release of her second album “Some Day” which came out on the 28th. This year is full of so-called “come-backs” isn’t it? And its fun to watch the people strive to make an effect in the Music Biz. YounHa is hella talented and she is looking hella good on her comeback, let’s look forward to her promotions. Just please keep away from Ajoo, for your credibility sister. O_O
WheeSung no longer wheezing
Yeah that has nothing to do with his operation. WheeSung, the vocally talented musical whizz is back as well. He has fully recovered after he went under the surgical knife to remove a cystoma on his vocal chords. And Thank goodness to that. He performed on the awesome Yoon DoHyuns Love Letter with Ko YooJin, and also performed a rock version of his last hit single “Love is Tasty”. Mmmmmm, sounds scrumptious. (Yeah I know that was lame, I don’t have much to say this week that’s why.)
Lee HyoRi looking for her Mr….BIG?
Lee HyoRi has officially stopped promotions for “U-Go-GRRL” and started promoting her new single, “Hey Mr. Big”. Check out the MV above ^^. She looks stunning as always of course, and the video is also, all about her. And heck if you looked that good wouldn’t you just want it to have no theme at all, but you?
FT Island wash up on Korean shores
FT Island have come back!! Oh my God, who saw ANOTHER come back in the works? Comebacks are sort of starting to lose their super effect on me, I just want good entertaining music, like now. FT Island have been drifting around Asia for a while now and I think they finally got the directions back to their homeland. Gah, Men and their pride, never want to ask for directions when they’re lost… In this case, still boys though. I like FT Island actually, they’re cute and they don’t suck up to noona that much. They play hard to get. Joking of course, this noona still prefers her men, but I like the pop “rock” of this cute little group that twang and beat on their instruments.
G-Dragon and his flares?
Excuse the typo, I meant artistic flair. Although I would pay money to see him in 70s inspired flares, it would be…interesting. G-Dragon of Big Bang is known to be a little artiste that likes to experiment with his music and style-sense. And he has been in the limelight for it recently, would I call him a “fashion Icon”? Hell no, but he is brave and bold and that’s respectable. I also do like some of his getups to be honest, sometimes K-Pop can get a little boring and dull fashion-wise so it’s nice to see some color. Ah, like lemonade on a hot summers day…. Strange lemonade sometimes, but refreshing nonetheless.

Yes another comeback. Please show some excitement though for Jo SungMo. He has come back after 2 years of serving his mandatory military service and it’s nice to have him back. Well he left in May but that’s beside the point, he will be singing the official soundtrack to drama “Garden of Wind” on SBS.
Wonder Girls go Global
Global in the sense that Virgin Media have recognised them. Aaaaw, Wonder Girls, South Koreas little sisters, have made them proud by getting a shout out from Virgin Media as “the ones to watch”. Personally the following line stood out the most, “Candyfloss pop aimed squarely at the female teen market”. Um…. sure. If you can call it that. Nevertheless, thanks Virgin Media for that ignorant remark, at least they got some promotion. I shrug out of confusion as to how “So Hot” is candyfloss pop.

Hallyu Hunk off the market
Gorgeous man that is Kwon SangWoo has officially spoken out via press conference that he is set to be married late this September. I think it’s time to start sobbing in to those hankies ajummas, and I say it fondly because I’m going to join you. Sexy SangWoo is set to marry Miss Korea second runner up Son TaeYoung. Apparently not many people are pleased. Not just with the fact that he’ll be off the market (not that many people had a realistic chance), but with whom he will be marrying. Netizens went nuts and started anti-ing up Ms. TaeYoung. SangWoo obviously hurt by their remarks spoke out to those people directly. “I, Kwon Sang Woo am not in love and getting married with a Miss Korea. I am really in love and getting married with a woman.” Now after the initial shock, I genuinely felt really happy for him. Ok, it was sudden, and it came with a very random person, but if that means happiness in the cold sad world of showbiz, I support it 100%. You with me ajummas? Afterall, this news wont change his position in our dreams.
KARA Comeback
Kara are coming back within days, the 24th if I’m gonna get specific. As a lot of people know they’re back with two members to the one they lost. The 5 member idol group format is known and most successful, so I was all nodding and interested at their upcoming debut until I saw their new members. Now, call me a cynic, because that’s what I am, but damn. One of their new members is like a child and the other is 17. What happened to the days where we used to look up at idol group members and wish were a little older so we could date them. Now that’s when I was 12-14. Now that I’m 21 and could date all the guys I used to have a crush on, but have since reconsidered since now theyre all weird, gay, married, insanely promiscuous and/or crazy. Anyhoo, back to the topic at hand, the girls are Gu Hara (1991) and Kang Jiyoung (1994).
Nam GyuRi leaves SeeYa funny her debut movie is a horror flick…
To be honest, Nam GyuRi kinda scares me, I mean I would never like to meet her in a dark alley or see her in the dark. Her smile and her “doll” image freaks me out a little. Nevertheless, shockingly to me she has gotten most of the attention out of the singing trio that is SeeYa. And her acting in their music video was mediocre, but people loved it nonetheless. I have no understanding of how they think, but it seems to have blown up her head a little (you’d think she’d be more humble after her ‘wardrobe malfunction’). Anyhow, she’s left SeeYa to pursue an acting career and a solo singing career. I don’t think her voice is ear-pleasing enough to go solo, but I will be looking forward to her new single. What will happen to the group now? Hmm… Mnet?
Is Elly still Sexy?!
Elly is Seo In Young if you didn’t know. Constantly a part of the gossip mills, Ms. Inyoung is going back to her solo singing for a wee while. Though she seems to have plenty of people hating on her (as we previously covered this week), she is funnily enough a seriously in-demand entertainer. Now I have a little confession to make, it doesn’t happen so often, but I would watch a show just because Seo In Young is in it. I wouldnt watch an ad though. She is entertaining and her joining ‘Ya Shim Man Man’ is proof enough of peoples interest in her. I hate her hair, hate it, hate it, hate it, with an unbelievable passion, her new mini-album is called “Elly is Cinderella”, so perhaps Fairy God Mother can give her a hairstyle worthy of CrownPrinceJ.

Little Miss Lee HyoRi, has made everyone crazy about the Hyorish. Her music is inferior in my opinion to Uhm JungHwas(yes I must mention them together), but goodness is she really leveling the playing fields. I didn’t like ‘U Go GRRL’ to begin with, or the other leaked songs as much as JungHwas mini-album, but after her comeback I’m getting second thoughts. With performance after performance I keep watching and that bloody “GRRL” keeps playing over and over in my head. That song is a grower and HyoRis awesome stage presence and performing abilities livens up the song so much more. I must admit I prefer her debut performance at Music Bank than the rest, but I still continue to tune in. Though I am a part of the “Dress women up and undress men” Kpop movement, I must concede this one and say, enjoy it guys. I also am, but not for the same reasons. I for one will be rooting for both the sexy divas, just because it’s refreshing seeing such great performances on stage. Viva la entertainment! I’m finally getting seriously entertained. How’s about you?
Well, not yours or mine but talent agencies. And he bloody well deserves it. Mr. Kang Ho Dong and his crazy laugh have been entertaining people for ages. He’s come a heck of a long way from his wrestler days, he’s lost weight, got hitched and has scored successful shows on all major television networks. As well as of course winning awards, so now that his contract with Phantom Entertainment has ended, everyone wants a piece of him. Word has it he can ask for and get 2 Billion Won (a cool 2 million US). Wow, I wonder if he’s up for adopting any young adults….

Seo Taiji goes classical
Yes, with his comeback slowly reaching us, we get news that Mr. TaiJi is going to be going classical. On the 27th of September (a day before Kwon SangWoos wedding), “2008 Seo Tae-ji Symphony” will take place. How about that for experimentation? Well, ok classical music has always been used in various genres, but it’s exciting to see how Seo TaiJi is going to incorporate it to his music. He’s flying in classical conductor and composer Tolga Kashif, who once conducted the Royal Philharmonic and London Philharmonic orchestras, both critically acclaimed and admirable in the world of Classical Music. Come on guys, tell me you love him too?? Say it now before he’s officially back and everyone mindlessly joins the TaiJi troupe….

Lee Hyori finally released her MV for her title song “U Go Girl”. The story line is about a nerdy, naive girl who decides to get plastic surgery and comes back as a glamorous diva. Hyorish adds some special touches, like the dance break in the middle, just to show that she’s still got the groove. She managed to prove that she’s definitely the “IT” girl of kpop, with an explosive number of hits on her MV and preorders for her album.
Hyori’s MV also dispelled all rumors of plagiarism, exonerating the MV producer of his faults. Good thing I trusted the adamant Mr. PD because I bet a lot of people will be sheepishly admitting that this “copy-kittish scandal” was blown out of proportions. I also noticed that the soda-pop bar scene was a parody of a Burger King commercial, not a copy of Christina Aguilera’s “Candy Man”. In celebration of Lee Hyori’s vindication over the hot-headed netizens, the picture above is a witty touché and I’m proud of it. Anyway, look forward to the popdiva’s comeback performance on July 18. Lee Hyori, you go girl! or should I say ‘U go gur!’

Lee Hyori is walking the fine line of plagiarism with her new MV for “U Go Girl.” There are 2-3 scenes in the MV that have a striking resemblance with Christina Aguilera’s hit song “Candy Man” and netizens are crying foul. But the producer thinks otherwise, posing a risque question of whether 2-3 similar scenes could be considered plagiarism. I don’t know, Mr. PD, you should have thought of that before instead of leaving Lee Hyori to defend herself that she’s not a cheap knock-off. But one thing is for sure, Lee Hyori’s song ‘U Go Girl’ is ORIGINAL.
I hope this doesn’t get blown out of proportions before the real MV is released. Lee Hyori has also been called a copy-cat for following Amy Winehouse’s crack concept and for her last MV “10 minutes”, where many netizens noticed that it resembled Jennifer Lopez’s “I’m Real”.
On a brighter note, Lee Hyori has stepped up her game! Her entire album is finally out. (It was out until it got ruthlessly taken down, however, you can download it yourselves for those who are resourceful.) There are 3 noticeable songs: 1)이발소 집 딸 (Barber’s daughter) – a personal, uplifting song of her childhood and family; she also visited her dad’s old barbershop on “Lee Hyori: Off the Record” to get inspiration for this song, 2) 사진첩 (Photobook) – a jazzy, bluesy, all-around sassy song, 3) Sexyboy – features Wheesung, who shows off his amazing voice once again after a successful recovery, 4) Unusual (ft. Seo Jung Hwan) – Youtubers are pointing out that the song is exactly like Timbaland’s song “Give it to Me” (ft. Nelly and Justin Timberlake).
