Ever wondered why in all those classical tales this figure is an idol? While studying for my human immunology exam I found out apparently in 1700s milkmaids were consider pretty b/c their faces were not pockmarked with scars from smallpox infection. This was in part due to the fact that their exposure to cowpox gave them immunity to smallpox, so they did not have the “pockmarked” complexion common to smallpox survivors. This can serve as a suggestion for all those celebrities obsessed with beauty to go find themselves a cow milking part-time job on the weekend!!! *Shrug*
