Another movie to look forward to is The Best Moment Of Our Lives /Woori Saengae Chwegoui Soongan (also goes by Forever The Moment) will be released early 2008.

The movie based on the real sports event of Korean women’s handball team at the 2004 Athens Olympic. The actresses have had a three-month training to potray the dynamic and realistic action scenes. While Uhm Tae Woong will play as the head coach.

The Korean handball team at the finals of the 2004 Athens Olympics carried on the game through double overtime against Denmark, the world’s strongest handball team, and the Associated Press called it one of the 10 greatest matches. The movie will draw upon the passion, life, and love of the women’s handball team who struggle through being in one of the less popular sports and reach being one of the best in the world. (Broasia)

Not unlike the American film industries, Korea hopes to build of the success of earlier box office sensations with a few sequels up their sleeve. Both a third installment of the Public Enemy films and a follow-up to Sex is Zero are now the development stage. Director Kang Woo-suk and actor Sol Kyung-gu are back for Public Enemy 3 known as Korea as Kang Cheol-jung. Shooting is set for this coming fall with the story following four years after the events that took place the orginial film. The sequel will also feature Jung Jae-young, Kang Shin-il, and Im Won-hee.On the comedy side of things, actress Song Ji Hyo (Princess Hours) will star in the follow-up to the 2002 film Sex is Zero. SEOUL – Cinema Service founder Kang Woo-suk has announced a new installment to his highly successful “Public Enemy” series of films.

“Kang Cheol-jung” (original language title) is slated to start shooting this fall, and is hoped to extend helmer’s stellar run at the Korean box office which includes the original “Public Enemy” (2002, $14.8 million), “Silmido” (2003, $57.7 million), “Another Public Enemy” (2005, $23.4 million) and the big-budget Hanbando” (2006, $26 million).

New pic is set four years after the original film in the series, with actor Sol Kyung-gu reprising his role as a corrupt and ruthless police detective. Sol played a different character in the second film in the series, “Another Public Enemy”.

Helmer and playright Jang Jin, who launched production shingle K&J Entertainment with Kang in 2005, will also contribute to the film’s screenplay.

Other thesps to appear include Jung Jae-young (”Welcome to Dongmakgol”), Kang Shin-il (”Black House”), and Im Won-hee (”Three… Extremes”).

okay, this is what i have to say about Public Enemy….OMG!!!JANG JIN AND JUNG JAE YOUNG AGAIN!!!!i’m burst in happiness tears…*sobbing happily* i love the first two, i raise my hope for the third..

as for Sex Is Zero, who doesn’t like the movie? (eh?anyone?)

i’d surely wait for the sequel, hope it won’t be a blooper tho..

Kim Myung Min who played a cold-hearted surgeon in White Tower, will be welcoming moviegoers on screen in a white gown once again. A press conference for the movie, Return, which is scheduled to open in theatres on August 9th starring Kim Myung Min was held in Seoul.

The movie is a mystery thriller about a child patient who becomes conscious during surgery. Despite being under anesthesia, and the events that occured twentyfive years after the child disappears from the hospital.

Kim Myung Min commented, “Only the occupation of the character is the same from White Tower as I acted a doctor with a completely different personality.”

The following is the response from Kim Myung Min in regards to a question asking about his second role as a doctor, and how is it different from White Tower.

My style is to always review things thoroughly before making any decision, but Return was the first piece I decided in a hurry. I decided to take the role one week prior to the crank in date. Only the occupation is the same as the character’s personality, background, friends, and all situations are completely different. I was filming Return first and White Tower shoots overlapped for about three weeks. I played a rather strong cold-hearted image in White Tower, but this character in the movie if faithful to his family and very sincere to all the hospital employees. Because the two characters were contrastingly different, I decided to take the role in White Tower. I have been able to let go of the White Tower character now. (Kim Myung Min)

Synopsis
Due to inadequate use of anesthetics, a young boy experiences “intra-operative awareness” during his own heart surgery, hearing every sound and movement of the procedure. From the scalpel slicing through his body and surgical saw cutting through his rib cage, he remains completely aware! Unable to respond from the muscle-relaxation used during his surgery, the little boy is severely traumatized from this horrific accident. As a result, the child ends up brutally murdering a young girl soon after the incident. The boy is placed in a mental institution. Several psychiatrists find interest in his case, and decide to utilize radical treatment methods in order to cure the child. Through the use of hypnotism, they succeed in sealing the part of the boy’s memory, his past and the personality that spawned from it. With this success, the boy is given a second chance and is placed to lead a normal life in society. 20 years later, the man’s childhood is once again unlocked from a series of events, and leads to a series of gruesome murders. On a mission to spread the same pain he suffered as a child, the killer becomes cruel yet clever. As the killing continues, each of the memories and the secrets that lie 20 years in the past are slowly revealed.

Super Junior Film to Premiere at PiFan

The film ‘Pretty Boy Terror Event Series’ starring the boy band Super Junior will be screened as a surprise showcase at the 11th Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan).

The film, to be released July 26, will premiere on the 20th at the festival. After the screening, director Lee Kwon and cast members will hold a talk with the audience.

Explaining the choice, a festival official said that “the Pretty Boy’s wit and cartoonish imagination fits well with the Puchon fantastic film festival, which is all about limitless cinematic imagination.”

Attention is now focused on audience reviews of the film starring the young pop stars.

LOL, what’s so surprising then if the news is already in the media?

Super Junior, one of the most popular boy bands in K-pop, is making their big screen debut with the film “Attack on the Pin-up Boys” this month.

At first glance, the film may seem like another “idol movie” meant to show off the charms of Super Junior’s good-looking members, rather than their acting ability.

However, Park Jung-su, the group’s leader who is also known as Lee Teuk, said he hopes people would not judge the film as just an “idol movie.” “Since we debuted (as a group), we announced we will work not just as singers, but also as MCs and actors. I hope people will get rid of their prejudices a little, and watch us as new actors, not as singers,” he said, during the film’s press conference at Imperial Palace Hotel in Apgujeong, Thursday.

Since Super Junior is one of most popular groups today, there are a lot of high expectations for the film. The film, with a budget of 850 million won, is the first to be produced by S.M. Entertainment’s subsidiary S.M. Pictures.

S.M. Entertainment head Lee Soo-man said the planning for the film took almost three years. “After hearing that Super Junior is starring, a lot of people seem to think that this is an idol movie but this a summer movie for kids. But elementary school students will be able to see some of the middle and high school students’ thoughts and for those whose schooldays are past, they will be able to relive it. Despite the title, this is a heartwarming movie,” he said.

Twelve out of the 13 Super Junior Members were cast in the movie, except for Cho Kyu-hyun who is still recuperating from a car accident last April.

Lee Kwon, who directed the film, admitted he was initially worried about working with idol stars. “I felt like a soccer coach as I tried to memorize all of the members’ names. At first, I had a lot of worries but it turned out to be like working with my next-door neighbors and a fun experience filming,” he said.

Inevitably, the film draws comparisons to past Korean idol films starring H.O.T. and Sechs Kies. Despite their popularity in the late 1990’s, H.O.T.’s “Age of Peace” and Sechs Kies’ “Seventeen” failed at the box office.

“If the standard idol movies are seen with the view of an adult, this movie is focused on showing their sensibilities as it is. The members are not acting as other characters but bringing out their natural personalities,” director Lee said.

Described as a high school comedy-mystery, the film is about three good-looking high school boys played by Choi Si-won, Kim Hee-chul and Kim Young-woon (also known as Kang In), who become the target of attacks.

Kim Ki-beom plays the narrator who sees a pattern of attacks against pretty boys, while Lee Dong-hae helps him investigate. The rest of the Super Junior members play supporting roles.

Some Super Junior members have had acting experience, such as Choi Si-won who appeared in the film “Battle of Wits;” Kim Ki-beom who starred in the TV drama “Snow Flower,” and Kim Hee-chul who appeared in “Bad Family.”

Attack on the Pin-up Boys will be shown in theaters on July 26.
