KRNLOOP: More than 700 Super Junior fans, known as E.L.F., are currently picketing in front of SM Entertainment’s office in Apkujeong, Seoul to voice their demands that the label no longer adds a new member to the 13-member group and makes a Super Junior – China unit.

Super Junior fans have 4 demands on SM Entertainment. They are as follows:

1. That SM Entertainment withdraws its plan on a Super Junior China unit.

2. That SM Entertainment officially announces that it will not remove any member from the group or add a new one in the group.

3. That SM Entertainment apologizes to Super Junior fans and people in general for releasing the concept that Super Junior is just a project group.

4. That SM Entertainment apologizes to Super Junior’s fan club E.L.F. for the mental/emotional strain the issues have caused them.

“We’ll only stop until our demands are answered,” Super Junior fans reiterated

life must have been very good to them so far, since they could claim suffering from mental/emotional strain, just because of these whole things. Elves, daaarlings, you haven’t face the real world out there, have you?Real life in the real world is alot more complicated than just a group of artists matter, so how can you handle that later, when you are already stress out yourself with this tiny thing- doesn’t even worth to mention as a problem??

mental and emotional strain is when your parents are getting divorce. Or your boyfriend suddenly killed in an accident. or when your boss at the office kills you slowly with a hell bunch of impossible tasks. or when you don’t have enough money to get your kids into college.

you poor things should really get your skinny asses off of the road and find a life.

guess with the issue of 15th member, we all can wait and hope for mass suicide threat from these mentals.

If i’m not mistaken, tomorrow will be the first anniversary of this blog (well sorta, coz Shen shut the blog down for a month once, before she finally wrote in a regular term). And it’s a bit sad coz Shen leaves right before the day. i was anticipating her leaving, but i didn’t know it would still be hurt to read an announcement that makes her leaving as a fact.

So yeah, it’s not like Shen’s dead or whatever. You’re still here, right, Shen???You’re reading my shit, aren’t you??? LOL…yeah…some people call us shit, some other people are shits for us, and some other enjoy the shit with us LOL whatever you call us, i’m still loving this blog.

I joined the author team on May, but i’ve been addicted to this blog since the first time i found it on google. that was around December 2006, or early January 2007, i don’t remember.

And guess what, SHEN! I remember your early post on November 2006, and it was about Son Ho Young (and dear, He is officially your first artist on the blog, if you open the archive), and damn, you called him straightly UGLY!! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLLLLLL!!!!that was how i like this place!

and so guess who was the second artist in our archive?

yep. Mr. Rain.

The one we sometimes despise so much, but remember when we giggled as we saw him looked really cute in a picture?LOL Reading this back, and i just keep on giggling…

I’d been off for weeks, and i just saw the new page layout. wow, if you follow the blog’s journey since the very beginning, you’d feel like, “Wow, my baby is a little girl now..” LOL..something like that…

Many things happened in a year, increasing traffic, more friends, more people to know, more things to understand (coz hey, we’re dealing with foreign culture here, don’t you just love learning about new things about new people?even when these people are the most nonsense persons like Lee Hyori?) and i just hope this blog will have the power to live more years. (or at least till Son Ho Young realizes that a SHENYUE once called him ugly LOL)

so happy anniversary.

You guys might not think the boys have talent is because they’re in such a big group, and there isn’t much room to share great talents or skills!! And because they’re part of SM, everything they do is controlled! The things I’m gonna talk about isn’t just about talent, but are the things they are good at! An example of talent is if you are a 5 year old, born blind, and can play a Mozart or Beethoven piece on the piano by ear!! Besides the norm of singing, dancing, rapping, mc-ing, and dj-ing, they have other known skills and most of the boys also know how to play the piano! And as a side note, the group is staying as 13 members, for now. Henry is apparently going solo will only be part of the SuJu China activities. Also, this post is like 99.9% biased since I am a crazy, obsessed fan and proud to be one!! I’m crazy and obsessed but not to the point where I want to go steal their personal items or have babies with them…that’s just wrong…ew!! They’re like my brothers from 13 other mothers!!

Eeteuk: who is the leader of the group (it’s not easy being a leader with 5 guys and this dude has to take care of 13 guys and 2 soon to be 3 sub-groups!), may not have a lot of good talent but he has a great voice and some pretty good dancing skills. He is one of the dancers of the group!
Heechul: he may not be very good at dancing, but he is also a great singer. The best thing about him is acting! He loves to act. He loves to imitate singers and he is great at doing that! Without him, SuJu will be very boring and quiet!
Hankyung: he knows all the 56 Chinese minority ethic groups’ traditional dances! He started learning those dances since he was a kid and he does ballet as well. He also has a lot of martial arts skills!
Yesung: besides his wonderful voice, he can dance! Recently the boys attended a b-boy competition and he showed off some of his b-boying skills! This boy is quite mysterious…first was the hidden abs (which is supposedly better than Siwon’s) and now the hidden dance moves!!
Kangin: he may not have a very good voice but he can still pretty good. One time, he was singing “Promise You” by Fly to the Sky with Sungmin. He sang Hwanhee’s part and we all know that Hwanhee’s got some awesome vocal skills!!
Shindong: he is only known for being a good dancer for the group and may have less popularity than the other boys but, everything is hidden!! Did you know he has a very good singing voice and that he is the group’s dance choreographer?! All the hardcore and powerful dance moves were made by him and some of the other group members!!
Sungmin: not only is he known for his singing and aegyo (cute) looks, he is very flexible!! SuJu T once had a dance battle on Star King with a b-boy and Sungmin showed off his b-boying skills! And also at the recent b-boy competition, he showed more off!! He also took taekwondo lessons before and knows how to use nun chucks really well, without whacking those special areas of his…haha! He can also play the guitar! He once played a chunk of “U” on the guitar!
Eunhyuk: known for his dancing skills. They may seem simple, but it’s not easy learning them! He has learned some skills off one of Korea’s best poppers, Nam Hyun Joon! His vocals aren’t that good but he still practices singing during the free time!! On SuJu’s new album, he has a few non-rap lines in some of the songs!! He also wrote some of the rap lyrics for the songs of their “U” single and new album.
Donghae: known for good dance skills and singing skills! He can also rap really well and has co-written some of the lyrics before!! If I’m correct, he is one of the rappers in BoA’s Girls on Top. I’m not too sure if it’s him but it sounds just like him and I know Yunho from DBSK is in it as a rapper too! He can also play the guitar as well.
Siwon: good in singing, acting, dancing (watch variety show, Love Letter!!) Known for his hot body (mm…chocolate bars…haha!!) and his “touchy-touchy” with other members! haha!! Did I mention he can play the drums?! He was a substitute drummer for The Trax one day on SBS’s Inkigayo!
Ryeowook: known for his super vocals! Last to join in SuJu before official debut, he replaced some guy who was also an SM trainee just weeks before the debut. So think what SuJu would be like if he was not part of the group!!!
Kibum: not very good in singing, but good in rapping and dancing!! Also famous for his killer smile!! Recruited by SM as an ACTOR, meaning he wasn’t recruited as a singer…and i guess SM had a change in plans before putting him in SuJu!
Kyuhyun: known for his great singing skills and cuteness!! Haha!! He is very good at imitating Aladdin and I think his favorite song is “A Whole New World” cuz he won a singing competition with that song before going into SM and just loves singing it! The boys won their first award on SBS Inkigayo and won their first MKMF award last year, with him in the group! He almost died in that one accident!! And don’t think I’m exaggerating about it! He wasn’t breathing for a moment and they had to use a defibrillator to bring him back to life (I’m sure he didn’t enjoy his “x” seconds of heaven!) and was on a respirator for like more than a week!! Do u think SuJu would be as successful as now if he didn’t join the group or if he died in that accident?!

And here are some video clips I wanted to show!

I know it’s not a lot to prove to you people that they’re not untalented. I’m not here to write about stuff for you to pity them or to like them but I want you guys to take a different perspective and look at it. If you were in my shoes, or another SuJu fan’s shoes, you would look at it differently and see that they are not untalented. If you people out there think that the boys can’t do anything good, I recommend you guys to go for SM auditions when they come around next year!!!

People, how many times do we hear America is the land where all dreams come true?well, America now has a rival. It’s South Korea. Yep, it’s where everyone can be everything. Today, we’ll have a lesson on how to reach your Korean (Entertainment) Dreams.

It’s an old issue, yeah, we all know that those (well, maybe most of) Kcelebs’ looks are nothing more original than a made-in-China Phrada or Louise Vuitton bag.

(Be frank people, you must be thinking you are a lot prettier than these babes’ old looks, aren’t you? well, same here.)

what’s with all these huge make-overs?really, i used to think that there was nothing to be fuss about, that plastic beauty is totally natural in the business, but hey, allow me to spit it out as i have an access to a blog. a famous one, that is.

So let’s see what these celebs have to earn their tags as, well, celebs. Maybe we can learn something from them.

what do you expect from your idols? Me? i want my idols to have all in a package. The talent and the figure. And i want them real. (you, our smart and sensible readers, won’t buy “That’s the magic of Bobbi Brown and MAC” thing, will you? i’ve seen such naive comments, but we all know, to make a before-after look of dear Sunny, whose previous look wasn’t as sunny as it is today, Bobbi Brown must be an alum of Hogwarts School Of Make-Ups)

so, circle lenses are not enough, eh?ooh no, they need permanent bigger eyes (for clearer visions?perhaps…) so long for natural/traditional beauty…plastic is natural now.

Not that there’s no true natural looks, if we dig deep enough, sure we can find those real beauties. I won’t mention the ladies, we all know who the minorities are. But check out Mr. Rain. (Well, i won’t say he’s a beauty, but he’s okay.) I’m not sure if he’s ever done anything to his unsymmetrical slanted eyes, but wow, who can count how many diehard ahjummas he has.

*some invincible hand slapped me on the face*

Ok, diehard FANS.

see? sometimes being real and original won’t hurt. Especially when you don’t have any sewings on your face.

and now i wonder how much they paid Kim Ah Jung for her real-life story to be put on the widescreen of 200 Pounds Of Beauty.

(shocked?don’t be. i made it up. joking. Laugh, people!laugh!)

Uhm Jung Hwa

Now, now, this whole thing can’t be just about physical figure, isn’t it? of course not. Good looks, real or fake, would be just a boring accessories if you don’t have the aura. They say Lee Hyori is a natural beauty (well, there goes the relativity of natural. I’d say Ganguro look -afro look, popular in Japan- is definitely not a natural way to define beauty, but guess natural of Lee Hyori meaning no knife). And, she has the aura. now read carefully.

For me, she combines the aura of sex appeal and , not necessarily stupid, but dumb, yes. Who would believe a person who said “I will use my sexiness to conquer Japan” has an IQ high enough to count her pride?not me.

And that way, she’s not boring. oh yeah, she’s not.

Of course, that’s not the only choice of aura. It’s a tentative matter. You can be smart, elegance, snob, bitchy, holy, whatever. Just don’t be plain.

What else?

You wanna be a singer but you can’t sing nor dance? You wanna be an actress but you can’t act? No worries. Those management companies will train you, half of your lifetime if it’s needed, to make you good enough to sell. Years of training will have its fruit when the trainees see their faces on the net, being talked about by the netizens. And the long awaiting till come the time for your debut doesn’t make you loose your life anyway. You can go to school, you can have parties with your friends, and you can fool around with your seniors at the company. Fun.

But of course, life’s hard when you’re a celebrity. There will always be people bashing you around and poking you, making fun of you, picking on you (eg. me). Be careful of your flaws. Don’t be off guard. Defend yourself in a smart way, or if your brain is not big enough to do that, forever hold your silence.

Resume

so what exactly do we need to be a celebrity in South Korea?…hmm…first, let’s see what we DON’T need :

1. Good looks. (Frankenstein, you can join. Don’t worry, the surgeon will wave its magic knife, you can have any face you like. You name it, they sew it. Ugly Duckling, you can be the prettiest silicon swan on the lake)

2. Talents. (Remember our so-called swinger girl Jessica? 7 years in the training should make it obvious how much talent she had in the first place. But hey, look where she is now, a soon-to-be-debutante, and a full experience with some of the hottest guys in the industry. Guess it is also included in the training syllabus. That and the plastic surgery. Shenyue said she’d love to be a trainee just to see how her face would be when she’s out of the training LOL)

3. Brain nor Pride. (You can be simply sexy. Say “I’m sexy enough for my brain and pride”)

4. Sensitivity. (Remember, No pain no gain, darlings. Besides, suicidal celebs are not cool)

5. Old pictures. (Ask your parents to burn your old photos, bribe your old school mates to admit that your pointy nose is a real, you have it even since primary. Don’t let the netizens find your sore spot and poke it. It might hurt. And humiliating.)

6. Coy attitude. (Kawaii only works in Japan. Remember, Sexy is the keyword. oh, and Plastic.)

And what DO we need?

1. KSSN. (It’s a possibility. I wouldn’t be surprised if they ask for your KSSN before they hand you the mic on the stage, or before the director says “action!”. So find your way out if you’re a foreigner: a) marry a Korean, or b) just ask for a miracle, that tomorrow you’ll wake up as a Korean.)

2. Something different from your group mates. (Coz usually after the surgery, you all will look like twins, coz the company sends you to the same surgeon and the very uncreative hairstylist will give you the same hairstyle. So make sure you have something different, like maybe your chipmunk-speaking voice, or blinking habit, or a tattoo -don’t ask your senior Se7en for an advice for this matter-. Let’s hope in a year or two, your family and fans can finally differentiate you from the other group members by spotting that little mole on your upper lips.)

3. Tutor-bodyguard. (If you can read and understand this post, good. Maybe you only need a Korean tutor-bodyguard. If you already speak Korean, even better. You just need a bodyguard to save you from crazy die-hard fans you will have. And make sure the bodyguard looks convincing, no chubby-chubby nor skinny-skinny, at least bigger than you.)

4. Sexy-trainer. (You need to look sexy, then you need a private trainer. Let me introduce you to Choi Seong Jo, a trainer that shapes the body of famous celebrities’ in Korea, like Cha Seung Won and comedian jeong Hyeong Don

Here he is :

Choi’s secrets to helping chubby comedian Jeong Hyeong-don shed 11 kg in just seven weeks are power walking and jump rope. In power walking, your strides are more effective if you bend your arms 90 degrees and swing them back and forth until you feel your chest muscles stretch. Jump rope is also very effective for burning off weight. Choi recommends 20 sets of 50 jumps with a 20 second break between each set. If you don’t sweat much, you can try wearing a specially designed suit that will help you sweat. If your goal is to lose weight, it’s more effective to exercise for a long period of time at mid to low intensity. Going from fast to slow, hard to easy, also helps. (English Chosun)

aha….i can think of other ways to make me sweat without the (special) suit, Mr. Choi…man, just looking at him makes me feel sexy…*some invincible hand slapped me on the face again. It’s my mum’s*

5. Circle lenses. (Just in case your plastic surgeon is a trainee)

6. Good relationships with Kpop bloggers. (We can help you spread your wings. And we’re nice to our friends.)

7. Strong and good sense to choose your stage name. (Don’t let anyone give you stupid name, like numbers or weathers, or coloured body parts like Purple Ears, or any abbreviates like ABCD or XYZ or PQRS, or even I.A.M.G.O.O.D. Big chance it will happen, so be ready with your name since the beginning and good story behind it. Never let people know you get the name from kimchi dish or any un-elegant source.)

Well, i hope it helps. Don’t forget to check the internet to find out when the next audition will be held. SMTown.com has its own special page for this.

So People, Go Get Your Korean Dreams! Fighting!

Cheers,

How many of us actually sit and calculate how much time we give to celebrities? They are our entertainment and they do a good job at it if not then no one would know who they are. However my problem is over saturation. Some of these celebrities are literally everywhere. They are talked about in the news, on message boards, websites, magazines, everywhere. Its getting to the point where I feel like my private life is being invaded. Can I have one day without your news in my life?! Some of you may not believe me but I don’t watch TV. This came about of me suffering from Over Exposure to Entertainment Information, in other words O.E.E.I. This is a serious condition in which you spend more time in front of the t.v or listening to the radio or on the computer specifically looking up anything about your favorite celebrity or celebrities rather than washing up or going anywhere; truly borderline HikkiKomori stuff here. However the real problem begins when other fans are involved. Yes, this is when celebrities really become annoying. You have to deal with cliques, disagreements, haters, opinionated fans, trolls, stingy cheap fans that don’t want to share any information with you or post pictures or sub shows because you can’t speak Korean or whatever. This is when we begin to ponder seeing them fall. We lift them up so high and give them credit that they really don’t deserve then one day we say “I’m sick of this S@#!, I’m tired of giving so and so my money and my support.” Next thing you know they’re on the 5 o’clock news for DUI or drug possession or they’re bankrupt or a whole bunch of other mis fortunate things and you know what we say “so what, you shouldn’t have become a celebrity.” We scold them for being weak and broken and looking sick and we can’t stand them. I am beginning to feel this toward my love my favorite singer. The problem is no one has been posting any new pictures, you rarely hear any news and this one individual likes to chime in here and there and say “oh, I know where he is and I know what he’s doing now” without giving any real information its like why are you psyching my mind!! So readers the message today is take a brake from your celeb once in a while it might help you more than you think and you wont become annoyed so easily. Believe me I have seen many fall, many mighty hard core fans that posted news and updates every couple of hours and now there is nothing but a whisper from them.

Think About It.

I’m thinking a couple of years back Kpop was so much better. More variety a stronger presence of seasoned artists and less gimmicky. The artists that we rave about today were just coming on the scene, and it needs to be said that their earlier works are much better than their current. I feel as though Kpop isn’t fun anymore just fanservice and while there are many fans happy just seeing their gasoo perform simple tasks to ensure their screams there is no real music being made. I got into Kpop nearly 5 years ago to get away from anything American and now that American music scene really sucks I literally do not listen to anything American except for the occasional Beyonce with Jay-Z in the background and old Brandy and Sisquo; I mean nothing recent at all, well maybe Lloyd and Rihanna but that is it honestly. But I am noticing Korean Pop music is beginning to sound just as bad. I can’t tell you who I’m listening to now that is new because there are none really worth listening to are there? I am still listening to Wheesung’s Its Real. I don’t know why it is that I can go to youtube.com type in Lee Soo Young Hwilili and get so much joy from listening to her sing live (cause that MV was crazy). One thing I’ve noticed is that recent Kpop artists spend too much time trying to be someone or something else. We all know that originality is a huge debate among Kpopers that causes much consternation.

Or maybe its just my assumption but am I wrong? For example, I have been listening to Jpop (Japanese Pop Music) way before Kpop and It is still so new to me and still good to listen to. Reason being its so different and that is why I think it is withstanding my quickness to boredom having yet to become tiresome to my mind. Kpop however sounds just like American pop music. I am becoming ever increasingly fatigued with it lately and the gap between the good singers, bad singers, and consistent singers is so huge It’s like America’s economic gap between the rich and middle class. With Jpop I am still discovering new songs and sounds to listen to, in old Japanese songs and new songs. There is so much to choose from Japanese music as a whole not just pop. Their pop music is superb, their techno is superb, and although few they have excellent Hip-Hop/Rap and R&B groups. They have great rock groups with all the sub-genres in rock from Asian Kung Fu Generation to Buck-Tick. They have many other genres from Ska (Ore Ska Band) to Anime selects (Kotoko). And I am barely scratching the surface, no I am not even touching the surface, no where near the surface because there is that much to learn, know, and discover. On my ipod I have twice as many Japanese songs than I do Korean. I can’t count the number of Japanese artist but I can count the Korean singers on my fingers which are: Se7en, Wheesung, The Trax, Rain, and Boa. And honestly who is everyone listening to other than Se7en and Rain? The rest of these artists don’t really even have albums do they? If it wasn’t for the brilliance that Korean entertainment is outside of music none of these artists would even have a chance outside of Korea or even in Korea. So why is Kpop even being considered part of Hallyu? All of the credit should go to the actors and actresses the thespians. It should go to the actors of the dramas and movies and to variety shows like X-Man (recently canceled) for giving the majority of these artist a career. So the real question is when will Kpop artists start contributing to Hallyu?

What do you think about it?
