We long waited for the July 18th … if you remember today was Star M Press Conference at the Imperial Palace Hotel in Seoul to explain to the public all that went wrong with Rain and his concerts. The conference started at 2pm and StarM representative Lee In Gwang explained ” The cancellation has been a good learning experience, where new skills and techniques have been acquired and learned. Before, during the preparation for the concert we simply did not know the details that would cause such a matter.” He also called the network insufficient and he said they view this as part of the laborous process to step towards the world market.

He insisted that “The tour cannot end like this!” starting on Monday and Tuesday of next week they will start making new plans to work on the aspect of continuing to promote concerts in the cities and China where concerts were not held. Star M additionally want you to know that they have been doing very good until now, and just because they made mistakes in one or two areas doesn’t mean they are an incapable company. (this part really made me laugh hard!) Rain’s HK Fans Show Expensive Support

Korean pop star Rain has some really supportive fans in Hong Kong. The fans from fanclub Rainhk.com have joint hands to publish an advertisement on two major local newspapers to show their support for their idol who is facing some troubles lately.

The advertisement was written in three languages (Chinese, English and Korean) and came with a price of HK$30,000 (around USD4,000).

11-Jul-07 [Han Lianshe] Rain Goes to Germany Alone, Takes On Movie Whole-heartedlyAccording to reports on July 11th, due to the cancellation of the American tour that has brought along lawsuits that are hard to be faced by Rain himself, at present he is whole-heartedly making his movie in Germany.The Hollywood movie Speed Racer has commenced filming since the beginning of this month in Berlin, Germany. In the movie, Rain plays the supporting role of an Asian race car driver. The film shoot will continue until the end of August; Rain currently has started filming.

Rain’s latest movie, ‘Speed Racer’, has angered animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) after report comes out that chimpanzee was beaten on set. The chimp is said to have bitten an actor on the set of Speed Racer, which reportedly resulted in the animal being hit. PETA said in a statement: “We are in receipt of information that may upset you. We’ve received several troubling complaints from people who have been on the ‘Speed Racer’ set and report that the main chimpanzee ‘actor’ has been beaten and has bitten one of the human actors.” “No humane representative is closely monitoring those animals while off-set or during pre-production training - the very places where abuse is most likely to occur,” the statement added.

PETA has called on people to write messages to demand that the chimpanzees forced to “act” in the ‘Speed Racer’ movie be immediately replaced with CGI or animatronics in order to protect the safety of the animals and those working with them.

The movie also stars Chinese actress Yu Nan and Japanese actor Hiroyuki Sanada, and Korean singer/actor Park Jun Hyung.
