As with the end of year countdown, its always expected to have the Gayo DaeJuns (Song Festivals) take place days after each other for all the main broadcasting stations to show-off  or outdo each other with performances.

There’s always the same performances with the same people on SBS, MBC and KBS shows that you sometimes fail to remember which performance they wore that particularly hideous outfit in, or which one made a fool out of so and so, and which show so and so made you want to puke, etc. And believe me, that has become a staple amongst the shows and the obvious favouritism and lack of creativity/originality is insurmountable on these shows, that not watching them isn’t really going to make a difference.

Not to mention the glitches that shouldn’t be made in terms of technical support… How many mics not working, bad camera work, bad timing or lack of synchronisation is there with these things, eh? You would think that with it being an annual thing there wouldn’t be so many mistakes. Think again.

And that’s why, our wonderful readers and trolls, we’re giving you an account of our thoughts on the worth watching mishaps, blunders and just plain EEEEWSIES (as in EEW, what the hell is going on? That’s gross!) in the end of year Gayo DaeJuns… Where Gayo sometimes means KAyo! (GO! Go! GO! away! in Hangul).

Biggest blunder (possibly of all time) SNSD and their over-exposure (in so many shapes and forms).

Lady Gertrude in Shakespeare’s Hamlet said it best, when you try too hard to convince people of something, it most likely is not true….SNSD and SM “Thou Protesteth Too much” when it comes to claiming that your 9 demons have any talent.  Where the hell are the “Supernatural” Brothers  to get rid of the leeching, talentless, unbelievably un-sexy 9 demons of SM Entertainment?  Opening the doors of the Devil (aka Lee Sooman) really did let out some horrible things unto the World.  LOL.  Every performance was full of mishaps and blunders that lack of time could never account to the hideousness of their performances of their songs and/or special collabs.

Let’s get on to business shall we?

2PM weren’t very good in their past lives, were they?

WooYoung face right there, was his (And most peoples) expression  throughout the whole performance. Enough said.

G-Dragon gets emotional

Probably after watching Wooyoung suffer in the above.

But we all know G-D has had his fair share of bad press (Plagiarism and indecency!) so he lays the blame on the oldest excuse in the book “I got something in my eye”.  Smoke to be exact.

CL shocks

While performing G-Ds track “The Leaders”, 2NE1 leader, CL, wore a leotard of some sort with her underwear sticking out at certain places and had peoples panties in a twist since shes under-age. On the other hand, I don’t know if its those monster heels shes got on, or if its the out-fit or the hair but don’t G-D look teeny?

Boys should stay boys

I’m all for boys performing girls songs and vice versa but there’s a fine line between paying tribute and gay-fantasies.

The drag has got to go. (I thought they were “manly manly men!”?)

I actually thought ShinDong was HyunA for his, SHINee and MBLAQs’ performance of 4Minutes “Muzik”. On the plus side, I thought Key and ShinDong really worked it, and well… MBLAQ boys got the dancing down.

I don’t know what it is about Kwon that gets me in fits of laughter, that guy was made for the stage. 2PM/2AM/BEAST joint stage for Brown Eyed girls‘ “Sign” was good. They got those sleepy/dead looks down right, and of course a little Kwon diva moment in between.

I would have been fine with this performance if there was only less of GAH!ee. What was with that spasm in the end? Like a kick but then half way through her heart stopped beating too early and then, commence toppling.

And ofcourse…

Lil’ CL strikes again with her leaotard-ity!

CLs was the best rendition of this cross-dressing nightmare, hands down.

Mostly due to the fact that she IS G-Dragon, female.

Thats what got a reaction outta me from them liberal (Drag? Good!) SBS folks.

Greek Goddess Taemin decided to go for a futuristic look with his Toga. Thats the only way I can make sense of this out-fit, I have no idea what else it could be but it sure as hell left an impression on me.

But looks pimpalicious with the top hat and fur that he got as a trophy from his day hunting in the woods. Besides Gil owning everybody, he put on an awesome performance with teammate Gary and Jang Giha & The faces (Personally, one of my favourite bands)

JYP decided to spice things up with a “sexy” dance performance with Son DamBi. But we all know it was just an excuse to perform female dance moves on stage.

KBS Gayo Daejun was probably the most versatile out of the three, seeing as it wasn’t as much of an Idol Fest as MBC and SBSs’ were.

After School and Son DamBis performance of “When I grow up” certainly shocked me. I don’t know if Gahee was still hung up over performing “Heartbeat” the day before and that she, and apparently the rest of After School and DamBi, had to constantly pop their chests to regain composure, but what the hell was that?

Is Gahee really fluent in English? Cos’ by the sound of it, shes the worse of the lot.

Looks like JYP wants to re-live his youth through the 2PM boys (The sleazy hip thrusts, oh the sleazy hip thrusts!). DJ Jinyoung looking and sounding like a Cockatoo  really had me distracted, especially with the ad libs (lol) and the pleather (not lol).

I know there was probably a lot more to comment on with last years Song festivals but some performances took a lot to mentally block out (The ones that didn’t have “lol”s in them, just “Wtf?”s) and I would rather not re live them O_O(*cough*MBCs-horridly-cheesy-video-intros/attempts-at-creativity/reminder-of-why-their-variety-shows-are-failing*cough*). Plus, if I had to comment on everything disappointing I’d go on forever (Can somebody say Michael Jackson tributes? Where was the passion, where was the fire?).

So, which Gayo Daejun (No matter how exceptionally similar they were) did you like best?

I guess bringing out the nightmare that is Rainbow meant that DSP needed to get rid of some extra lbs.  And it’s sad to see Super Juniors’ wannabe rivals go.

The only real shame I feel is Tomo.  That crazy Japanese guy with his pet goats was always great TV and was such a character it was hard to dislike him.  The guys did OK performances and showed some promise but it’s not hard to see why DSP would try to cut losses by letting them go.

Sorry fans of the group and Tomo, I hope your goats are well taken care of.

There’s a lesson to learn here Kangers, don’t turn to drink when you’re upset.

Anyhow, he did it again, KangIn of Super Junior got himself in trouble with the law and frankly, it makes me think he’s not alright in the head.  I missed it last time because I had a life, and this weekend I did too, such a shame… A social life, no?

Anyways, how stupid do you have to be to get involved in two drunk-themed instances with the Police without that much time between them.  Your first time may have been in “self defence”, although we never got to see the CCTV footage, but two drunken escapades that involve law breaking make a pattern.  Oooh what a wild Idol, he has a record.  If this was somewhere else besides South Korea, he’d be a Legend.

I actually like KangIn, he’s a good guy, or at least he seems like one but a DUI?  Really?  And then for fear of getting caught he ran off although he hit a Taxi?  What a coward.  Apparently his blood alcohol level was so high it was enough to get his licence revoked.

But at least he turned himself in.  O_o  Six hours later… Maybe he hopped out the car to sleep on a park bench?

Criminal activity 101, if you start running never turn back.   But I guess the point here is that he was panicked and didn’t mean it.  Oh KangIn you need psychological help dear.  I guess G-Draco isn’t the most troubled Idol out there.  (Why do I have so much trouble calling him an Idol?)

Trust SME though to have things covered, as soon as everything happened they stood firmly and spoke out publicly (oh some other companies should take out their pencils and take notes) and made sure to make the boy undergo some much needed “self discipline”.  I.e.  “we’ll whip ya to shape boyo!” I see Papa SooMan doing it now in his KangNam lair, overlooking his evil assistants whip him… But wait… didn’t the incident happen in KangNam?

Is KangIn covering up for our favorite Oompa Loompa Dark Lord? (I told you Willy Wonka they’d turn against us all one day) Oooooh what a conspiracy theory this has become.

Anyhow, I should end this on a serious note, KangIn was far more than foolish and he deserves much punishment for what he’s done, he will be on hiatus til the end of the year in order to “self reflect”.   He did also apologize on the groups official website.  This is an obvious cry for help and the boy seems to have a lot of emotional problems, SME needs to sort their artists out before this happens again.  We have seen this before with an SME artist.  Both the company and artist should be held accountable and both should set out to make things better.

What a bad year this is for BoyBands.  Run and hide in the hills boys there’s voodoo being do-ed.

Words cannot fully describe what I thought of this video teaser… I was mostly thinking “WTF I’m on Krystal meth” (geddit?), and even if I was high why would I imagine an intro that sounds like another porn teaser (cough SNSDs Genie cough). SM seriously listen to some real music for once, watching porn does not constitute as “research”.

Then there’s the opening where it looks like G-Dragon made a cameo as a pimp surrounded by his Hoes. Classy!! I’m guessing you were inspired by Jewelry’s latest irony theme. Then the music starts and on comes that bad dancing, one forward flip and a dark street in front of a theatre (which I’m guessing is their workplace).

I’m lost, really, cos I figured I would give SM some credit, and since they have NOONE PROMOTING right now, so they’re pretty much free (besides their legal department), they would make this something decent.

And um… two of them are 15, one is 15 and the others still 14?! Surely the whole prostitution theme is a little bit inappropriate…And plus, SNSD already have those grounds covered (Tell THEM your wish, not the minors).

I may be overreacting but whatever, a company like SM with their experience with the market and large production staff and marketing team should have made a better job with this.   Rather than make a member pretty much look and sound like a confused hermaphrodite surrounded by leather clad ladies. And the dancing is so much of a SHINee rip off, recycling, nice. While SHINee can dance these girls can…. do what exactly? Lacha tata?

Even though the first impression was a disaster, I’m still going to give these girls a chance. Ahh right their called f(x) (에프엑스), as in fox or fix or whatever it’s hard to care with that monstrosity of a teaser debut.

She seems like the oldest, she has experience in both China and Korea as a CF model and featured in Super Junior Ms “U” and SHINees debut song “Noona is so Pretty”. And this Chinese lass is quite the pretty one.

Krystal Jung (1994):

The one that’s pretty much has a lot of the spotlight right now, SNSDs Jessicas little sister. Also known as the “pretty one”, and the “scandal-less one” in the Jung Family.  No matter what, I see her as quite plain and the only thing that sticks out to me is her nose… It looks like it can poke someones eye out, sister should be careful when she’s dancing, or flailing her arms and legs wildly like they do in the teaser.

Sulli (1994):

For the Child actress member, it’s quite interesting to see only this picture being spread around for the time being, expect to see more soon. But I can’t help but think of a sentence in an English Drama I once watched, “Oh dear I think he just sullied his pants”… :/ I may just think of that every time I see her now…

AHAHAHAH, getting far too ahead of yourselves darlings! A Chinese member or two doesn’t make you that well rounded, and to be a dance group I have to, at least, be impressed by their dance abilities.

The morning commute is always a bother

JiYoung actually had herself some fun travelling on the trains with all the “normal” people and not to be outdone, our Super Juniors’ ShinDong made a post saying that he can do it too!

When I first heard the news I really scoffed, thinking it was something that fans thought up and were in denial.

Then it turned out that SM were trying desperately to get some money out of DBSK in this so-called legal crisis. This years SMTown is just the boys, with DBSK, Super Junior and SHINee, apparently they’re the only ones that get along.

They even made sure to take out our favorite failures SNSD (not that we’re complaining. Halloween is more their market, with all of them being your worst nightmare in a dark alley and amongst their fellow demons). It’s sad that they also made sure that CSJH the Grace weren’t involved (what are they doing now anyway? They’re free damnit) and Asian sensation BoA whose doing A-Nation soon. Let’s not forget underrated diva Zhang LiYin.

So, can you really call it SMTown if half of them and all the ones with oestrogen wont be in it?  And I’m pretty sure Kibum will be a no show again… But this is easy, there’s no need for performances or an MV, just a recording.

Watch out fangirls, they’ll be physically stealing your wallets later.

Recently the Brown Eyed Girls made a feature on Super Juniors’ Kiss the Radio alongside F.T. Island.

To those that have followed the blog since our takeover you would have known that I find a particular member alluring… Everyone is giving JYP and SM kudos for their International groups 2PM and Super Junior. Well, F.T. Island have gone an extra mile and started a new type of group. They’re inter-galactic babeh, so where is their kudos, eh?

Brothers re-unite please!

Something one has to get acquainted with when in to K-Entertainment is how “close” men are. Boys are of course, much more comfortable with their male friends rather than female, and skinship is more accepted with two men rather than a man and woman. That probably comes from the crazy jealousy that girls do get every once in a while, when they see a guy they like coercing and getting touched up by another female.

Nevertheless, it is so much more mainstream and acceptable seeing something like this in Korea than say in some places in the West…

Infinity Challenge has had some experience in broadcasting such scenes, and HyunDong and HongChul have even done the double….

Super Junior did the same thing on their “Exploring the Human Body” show, so Infinity Challenge aren’t craving for some man action…Or…

Luckily, all men involved are in committed heterosexual relationships at time of print, coincidence or not? Perhaps it can be seen as a sign for potential mates?

I thought HyunAh aged about 8 years in this photo. She should not be standing between Maybee and Nicole, and do I spy a new nose? Or face shape? I barely recognised her with 4minutes pics, she’s starting to look like Bae SeulGi to me, or is it just the horrible hair style/color that’s aging her?

Tip: Drink a lot of water and use sunscreen. Some tinted moisturizer with SPF50 could probably be the best investment you’ve ever made HyunAjumma!

After there was such buzz over the pictures, ShinDong was quick to reveal that in fact the weight loss wasn’t as high as 16kg as people thought, but 10kg. Yeah all trivial when it comes down to it, and it’s good that he’s lost weight and all but…he initially looked healthy. But now it’s just a little too much for Super Juniors cuddly dance machine…

Damn. Nevertheless this may be a trick again like the last selca pictures. Yet still, I miss the old ShinDong that impressed everyone with his great dancing despite his size.
