Honestly, it’s been so long since Se7en aka Mr Park HanByul made an appearance I thought he was actually in hiding or the leader in Rains new group MBLAQ.

It’s about time that YG announced something in regard to this fella. I do remember vaguely enjoying his performances and liking some of his songs but that was so long ago I hardly remember. He may be coming back  hopefully early next year with the Big Bang boys! Now that is something I’m looking forward to. I may be old fashioned but I much prefer group efforts as opposed to their solo efforts. Is it me or do TaeYangs solo songs all sound the same?

On a side note though, I really want to know what it is with the Korean stars debuting in the States and  sudden returns to their homeland or adopted homelands (that’s you se7en and BoA)? They either run off and go back to the drawing boards or promote a song for a year and more. Poor Wonder Girls, I bet they can’t stand the sound of “Nobody” any more. You can only point so much until you want to poke JYP in the eye with those pointing fingers!

Se7en did his thing at some clubs or whatever, made a track with wannabe Asian Lil’ Kim called “Dem Gurls” and then disappeared in to obscurity.

BoA promoted “Eat You Up”, did Kollaboration, a radio tour and a gay rights gig and that’s all I care to remember (Yeah I’m sure they both did more than that but I’m not a dedicated fan to know the details, i.e. I just don’t care enough). Then Miss BoA did her normal thing and went back to gather some moola by doing a Japanese tour and  releasing a new Japanese Album. She promoted another song off the album, I think it was “energetic” but the video was so cringe worthy I forced it out of my memory.

The Wonder Girls did OK, better than the rest at least. With their existing fan base in the States and the teenybopper worshippers of The Jonas brothers, they were bound to make some sort of  feat in the States. The Billboard chart entry was it, they weren’t the first to do it but they still deserve kudos for doing better than the other venturing Idols.

Back on topic: I’m semi looking forward to the return of Se7en, he needs to remind me why I’m even bothered in the first place. And of course his poor fans deserve it, as do the other fans whose Idols have made their way to the U.S of A.

Well, Congratulations to them firstly, it is an amazing feat since they’ve done more than most K-Crossovers over the last few years. JYP held a press conference for the girls last week in Seoul and mentioned how they will be concentrating on the Western World with the Wonders and will not be further promoting in Korea. Since I prefer them in Korea it’s a darn shame, nonetheless there was something in that conference that made me blink twice, and that was YooBin.

YooBin sported a new haircut framing her face and making her look fabulous yet I swear I’ve seen it all before and then I realised the insane resemblance little Miss YooBin has to cutesy pop star IU. For sake of funsies they shall be called I-Yoo.

I always liked 4Minute. Sure I made fun of HyunAh a lot (HyunAjumma!) but it was playful teasing honestly, and out of the horde of girl groups out there…. Man, are they most promising. They’re recent song “Muzik” is so much fun to just boogy down to, and what a refreshment after that horrible music video I just saw ( La ChA Ta Ta TA(?) )

Now THATS a car, f(x), effects, or whatever your name is, take note.

And I must say, now  THIS is a HOT comeback stage, behold “Muzik” on KBS MusicBank:

The crowd is loving it

I never really had the chance to say this about them, but these girls are confident, have attitude and hella stage presence to back it up. Looking at that performance, you wouldn’t think this is their 2nd single promotions,  looks more like they’ve been in the biz for a while. I don’t know why everybody’s talking about 2NE1s “stage presence”, which I think is non-existent, these girls give it off, while I feel nothing when 2NE1 performs, I’d much rather listen to their songs.

They’re the full package when it comes to performers. Appealing voices, stage presence and have some decent dance skills. JiYoon is a STAR and thank the lord they stopped HyunA from that squeaky singing and she stuck to how shes meant to sound. Bearable.

I see a lotta potential, and just because I like them…

Back on track, girls brought funky back, what do you think?

I think POminute (4Minute to be accurate) are quite promising, and I do like them, so when news broke out of them releasing their new single with a fabulous new teaser I was excited. I mean, something has got to clean out the sour taste in my mouth after the awful f(x) teaser.

They are also looking fierce! Although HyunAjumma can get annoying at times, she is actually one of the liveliest of the group, and her history in Wonder Girls was probably why they’re in demand so much with CFs. They just got themselves a Sony Walkman gig and are pretty much picking up all the CF deals that Wonder Girls dropped off. Lucky girls, that’s a nice chunk of change to get although they’re paid less than the WGs. 4Minute had a shaky debut stage but they recovered and started to improve daily with their confidence and performances, and that deserves kudos.

Nevertheless, I have my copy of the album and it’s a fun dance album, with a medium tempo (or two), making it almost Pussycat Dolls-esque but Koreanified.

(Speaking of Korean Pussycat Dolls, I miss After School, initially they were one of the most fun on stage girl group this year, they lit up the stage every time they performed and I liked it. Somehow they disappeared with the barrage of girl groups this summer, and I have missed them, even though their leader freaked me out.)

Recently a picture has surfaced of the middle Jonas Brother and his birthday party.

Some people were observant enough to realise a strange alien woman watching from afar behind a clever disguise…. Assorted color balloons!

And who was that clever lass? None other than MiMi of the Wonder Gurls Girls:

if that doesn’t scream stalker behaviour, I don’t know what does.

No one else could have that strange hairstyle, and no other so called “human” can pull it off but SunMi, aka Agent MiMi, Jonas Brother stalker.

Could she be hired out by Joe’s estranged ex-lover Katy Perry? Could she be admiring him from afar? Or could she, which is the most unlikely option, be invited?

Or worse yet, crashed the party with some balloons inhabited by tiny alien monsters ready to infest the world with Alien Flu?

Especially Yoobin, isn’t she meant to be the “sexy” one? Just have them stand there and say

“Hey to all our fans, we love and appreciate your support. We were elated to find us win by 99% on the Radio Disney poll and would be honored if you continue to show us your support by continuing to vote. Don’t know how to vote? Watch this small tutorial!”

WG if you continue like this, Disney won’t give you your acting gig, I’m still rooting for it, but a little dismayed.

What happened to DVD recorders or streams from the TV to the laptop?

So, discouraged I left the Internet for a while and waited for a good HD vid, and did I ever get one! Check out the great quality Daum video, and oh me oh my, Ms. Williams has some distracting cleavage!

The girls did superbly and Grand Master JYP was of course, thrilled. They looked tired and a little hazy at times, but as it went on they looked like they were ready to part-ay with Ms.Williams and the twins.

So, what now?

OK, I was one of those that was seriously skeptical when JYP announced his Wonder World Domination thing, and I thought he was getting way ahead of himself, since the girls are pretty much still noobs. And still Kids.

But this is Mr JYP, he always has something planned, and keeps it secret.

And while chatting to ze ShaBANG we came up with some seriously ridiculous future prospects with the WG girls in the US, but the most believable one, and the one we feel is most likely to happen is…

Picture it now… 5 Korean exchange students coming to live life in the United States, to study English and try to break it in to the American Music Industry.

They can mix love, life and teen troubles. The girls can cry together, work together, deal with homesickness together, study together and fulfil their dreams together… the American Dream that is!

Disney, I officially call out to you to offer me the Creative Director job and a salary of $250K. I can even script-write!

I see Yenny having many a heart break with her quests for “true love”…

Yubin getting all the man lovin’ and staying sexy a la Bridget Hennessy.

Sun being the  Soccer team Captain and caring mama.

If this isn’t a hit, I don’t know what is. And it does help that they’re already exposed to the Disney audience via Jonas Brothers.

That or they’re vying for a Burger King job (official sponsors of the Jonas Bros tour), but that’s just so far fetched!
