The elaborate stage production of Rain´s 2007 World Tour could have jinxed Rain´s concerts in many of his World Tour stops.
In Malaysia, the venue was changed just one week before the concert on 27 January 2007. It was originally meant to be held in the much larger Outdoor Stadium but it was rumoured that the organiser was hoping the venue management would relent in allowing the many tons of equipment to be built over the grass turf but that didn’t happen so the sudden change causing some ardent fans (having sleepless nights) to scramble to buy the most expensive RM1000, approximately USD 288, tickets at the last moment. Having watched Rain´s World tour in Kuala Lumpur, I must admit that Rain´s World Tour´s elaborate stage production sets the benchmark for quality concert production in Malaysia.
The Australian concert venue was also changed at the last moment and free tickets were given out due to response issue. Now Shanghai´s concert is postponed. However the Bangkok concert was postponed not due to the elaborate stage but because of the political situation in Thailand then, in February.

Rain´s 2007 World Tour´s concert in Shanghai was approved by the Ministry of Culture in April but due to the elaborate stage production, production staff handling the many aspects of this complex stage building need sufficient time to overcome the difficulties. As due consideration would be required for stage production safety, the protection of his fans and quality audio-visual, the organizers decided to re-apply for an approval to delay the concert to May 20. Currently all suitable venues* in Shanghai are unavailable, in preparation for women´s football and other activities such as the Special Olympics. At the same time Rain will from 25 May to end of June be holding his World Tour concerts in Tokyo, Bangkok and the United States. Under such unavoidable circumstances, the organiser and Star M, the company handling Rain´s World Tour announced the postponement of the concert. Rain would after completing the rest of the stops of his World Tour might return to Shanghai, the specific date will be under further notice. They respectfully request that the many fans wait patiently for the arrival of Rain.
